Raytracing in Max Payne!? | Max Payne: Remixed Demo

Half-Life enjoyers, I owe you an apology! This video was supposed to be published two days after my previous one as a surprise video. Unfortunately, I got sick, and you can actually hear it in my voice here which was apparently an early sign. It got extremely worse the next few days so I wasn't able to record the next Half-Life episode, as well as edit this video. I've currently recovered a little bit and should be able to record real soon. (Also, apologies for not being able to reply to some of your comments on the last episode. I promise I’ll do that when I get a little better. 🙏🏼)

I'm not really sold on RTX in newer games, the difference is almost unnoticeable to someone like me. But the difference it makes on some older games, and this game in particular is nuts. 9:59 in particular really stood out to me. Would love to see how the nightmare levels could look even more surreal with this tech.

Although I agree that raytracing is an extremely visually appealing experience, it's definitely not worth the performance hit. Raytracing sends my 3080 back to the stone age, and after getting used to 120-144 FPS gameplay, I don't think I can ever go below 60 ever again. But the entire concept is definitely amazing, I'm hoping to see more older games modified with RTX in the future!

you may need to get your eyes checked if rtx is something you dont notice in modern games,the difference is huge

Been busy but definitely coming back to continue watching your Max Payne 2 gameplay. Can't wait till you get to the 3rd. This demo shows it to be promising. Don't get me wrong, a lot of bugs that need polishing, like the guy you save that dies has a transit shirt but for some reason changed to suit and tie? Lighting effects look dope when they work, and definitely could be the best remastered version of the game.
