Yeah, for me I bought the Hyper x cloud alpha headset a few years ago which is a bit more expensive than the razer. Though I do see them on sale pretty often. But it is one of the best purchases I've ever made. It is without a doubt worth the extra $25-30. Its in a whole other stratosphere of pretty much every category compared to the razer headset. Actually razer headsets in general. At least in that price range of under 100.

I bought these ones less than a month ago. The main things I noticed so far were: -7.1 surround sound is hit or miss. In some games it sounds good, whereas others you just get this horrible bass boost of different sounds, and turning it off makes the sound tinny at low volume. I would love to have an EQ to fix this, so if anyone knows please let me know. -Wearing them on my neck for a prolonged time feels odd.... There are a few contact points on the back of my head and the sides of my neck which make it a bit uncomfortable. -The microphone is, as you mentioned, begging to get loose. Had Razer designed a retractable or removable mic this probably would've been much better. To its defense though, the mic levels are quite good, if not a bit saturated with my voice, compared to the ones I had before (GXT 363). -I haven't had issues with the splitter, though I'm hoping Razer sells replacement cables.

Hey Dmitry, I own the Blackshark v2. I've had it since September/October and originally was going to get the v2x after seeing your video on it, but best buy was out of them at the time so I ended up with the v2. Anyhoots I too am surprised at how long the material is holding up compared to the original Blackshark I owned from like 2 years ago? The mic for me has yet to lose its positional memory but then again there are times when I disconnect the mic when I'm not using it. The sound on mine is pretty strong going still and have yet to notice any sound or bass loss. All in all I've enjoyed it and for me the mic is way better than the original blackshark, only thing i noticed since owning these was the built in mute button as I was that a lot in discord or when playing on the ps4, speaking of the volume on console seems pretty well and I rarely have to use the nob on the headset unless it's needed. But yeah just wanted to share my experience with the Blackshark v2 and that the long term type reviews are always nice to see, and will sometimes be a factor when buying something, especially computer related

I think I'm going to give the V2 X a shot, since they're currently $40 on Amazon. My current Turtle Beach Ear Force X11 is many years old, and needs replacing. I have always preferred game audio through speakers, not a headset, so my main use for this is going to be the mic, to talk to my friends on Discord or the Xbox app on my PC or phone. In fact, I tend to just rest my headset around my neck and speak through the mic without even plugging in the incoming audio cable. As long as the mic quality stays solid for a long time, this will be very worthwhile for me. I'll probably try to play some games with the headset, like War Thunder or something, just to see if the audio difference really helps or hinders me. After watching your original review and this, I think it'll be my best choice. If it turns out it doesn't work so well in six months to a year from now, it was only $40. Thanks so much for the review and information!

Nice, would like a long term on PC38x, I sometimes am getting cracking sound when changing volume on the knob. Also sometimes, there is no sound from 1 ear cup, i have fully disconnect and reconnect to get the sounds back to normal

Wow... the downsides and faults of the headphone really shows. I was about to buy it too, thanks for this long term review video. Maybe they should make an improved version of the V2 X. Maybe better implemented hinges, better dongle and ear cushion.

You can fix the splitter cord with electrical tape, you can also tape a pipe cleaner to the mic to make it stay up

I use these with my Xbox and while the default volume was a bit muted, you can go into settings to up the headphone level. This resolved all issues as it now goes to uncomfortable listening levels! If you’re using with a console have no fears!

I bought the blackshark wireless and they sound much better than my wireless steelseries, also a lot lighter. Was concerned by how fragile the extension arms are, but they seem fine to me as I set the height for my head once and then never move them, I don't see how it would ever be an issue unless other people share the headset or you accidentally sit on them!

i have been using the hyper x cloud 2 since 2018 and it still sounds great and the mic boom is still stiff due to it being removable. but the downside is that the pleather earcups is now flaking and unusable but the velour pads still works great. I've been using a Razer Tiamat headset from around ~2011 every day and so far so good. No issues, still sound great, so hissing or popping to speak of. I used an original Blackwidow mechanical keyboard from around the same time period for about 8 years before finally replacing it because of some issues that began to crop up. I've also had a couple of Razer mice that I used for two or three years at various points over the last decade or so. I've yet to run in to the consistent reliability problems that people popularly attribute to Razer products.

I'm still using my Razer Kraken 7.1 v2 from 2016. Completely fine. Tiny bit of wear on the ear cups and the cable sound is slightly annoying when rubbing against clothing but sound and mic quality is superb

great you're putting in the work for long time reviews. my experience with Razer has been a mixed bag, my super old keyboard is holding up great, I pray for my left handed Naga 2014 mouse tp keep on trucking forever. so far it was flawless hardware wise. my even older Razer mice were alwyys a bit flimsy in the cable and connector department. the sad thing is your review shows that Razer has an ongoing problem in their QA department for years now. An inconsistantly sized connector can't be accepted I am buying a product not playing the lottery. Last year I intended to buy a Razer 15 pro for work, but in the end decided against it after experience less then mediocre customer service and reading way too many stories about slow andf unhelpful customer service. I can not be without my work computer for a month or two... wtf.. anyways sorry for the rant great video!

It is a very good headseat budjet wise... but if you are looking for headsets that has sound quality : its GOOD... but once you experienced better sound from higher end headsets, it is VERY hard to accept this one... This one wont cut i t at all. I feel this review is totally fair : for the budget price for what you actually get those are cheap and sound good... Then if you want sound quality... you definitly have to spend on better quality headsets.

So the feedback loop is still an issue, but the cable is an easy fix! I just used a different splitter and it’s sits really snug! Another issue I find is that the microphone and headphone plugs aren’t clearly enough labeled. The color coding is there but I would like a headphone and a microphone print/indent somewhere on the jack.

I’ve had these since like a month after release and in my opinion they are very good, to this day I’ve not noticed any fault with them other than the fact that the ear cup material isn’t for me especially in the heatwave the UK is experiencing as it isn’t too breatheable, the mic is alright and the audio quality is really good, I’ve used this on an Xbox one, Xbox series X and a PS5 and I’ve had no issues at all, the bass is nice and boomy just like how I like it and because of this I’m considering getting the razer blackshark V2 pro wireless as an upgrade

They are really great. Ive had them for over two years now, playing every day for 3 or 4 hour straight, and still they feel like brand new. No issues what so ever.
