Hi, you're right, editing the video's to keep them short and interesting is the reason why people come back to your channel. I watched several repair channels, but with a lot of them i don't see the end of the video's because they are too long . I think you're doing a great job!

I felt your pain on this one. I thought you had it. So much effort for a no fix. For anyone still wondering, this is why there is a repair attempt fee. Excellent video. I was laughing out loud over the "what's 2 among friends comment" 😂
@AhmedAymanM
@AhmedAymanM 2 жыл бұрын
You still arguing about repair fee.. Oh my god.. But atleast right here as I client I can see time spent (20 minute is alot) and then I can pay you 10 or 20 bucks for good time and trial, Or wait for a full fix then.

Just to note about the different digit on the Z340: the TL431 and the TL432 are the same thing with swapped pins and only 1 digit changes. There are countless examples of this and assuming the chip is the same because of a similar part number is very risky. Since this is a mosfet it shouldn’t be catastrophic, but it’s important to keep in mind
@Macabri_2k10
@Macabri_2k10 2 жыл бұрын
Z340 is slightly different from Z342, the Z342 is symmetrical, Channel 1 and 2 are identical, on the Z340 the Channel 2 supports higher drain. in general the Z342 has lower values (the weaker component compared to Z340) both are Vishay components SiZ340DT /SiZ342DT

razer products are engineered to fail as soon as possible after the service plan expires. when a repair is warranted, they've been known to return the repair to the opposite side of the country and blame it entirely on fed ex. i strongly discourage everybody from purchasing anything they offer.

That’s weird, mine blade stealth 13 still working fine…from 2018 ish…(i bought it second hand in 2019 early and seller said he used it for couple of months) been heavy use it till today. Not like it all fluent, i had replace battery one in 2021. But other than that no, i never counter any problem. And i thought razer only bad for value and customer service. Because their hardware seem very legit… to the point i bought new entry razer blade pro 17 2021 model. I couldn’t say my impression on them are all good, their peripherals i own in the past and the present seem worn out very fast. Include my stealth…the cheekrest all fade out color. Your comment kinda concern me about my blade pro 17. I paid quite a lot for that baby, hope that isn’t as bad as you said.

This applies for Acer brand too. Worst customer service in all the major brands, and will use every single cheap parts they can to make it work just for the warranty time and break after. If it breaks before the warranty ends ? Mehh each components cost them pennies so they will change them, once you send them back your laptop for over 9 weeks, and will return it to you fixed. But it will break again and it won't be under warranty anymore. Companies are scums abusing idiots. And idiots are buying anything scums does just because of marketing. Slap a banner saying FASTER THAN LIGHT and boom you just sold 10k units. People are dumb. Companies know that.

Thumbs up for Lenovo laptops reliability. I have 3 at home, 2 for personal use (9 and 6 years old) and still in good condition. The third one is my work laptop and, at 4 years old, and 12+ hours being powered on each day... stilt as good as new. (Ok, batteries of course have declined, but the oldest one still holds charge for 20-30 minuts)

So the possible cause is - The controller chip shorted internally and kept the high side MOSFET on passing high current and voltage down the choke, heating both the MOSFET and the choke. This would have fried the PCH.

Does this laptop have its own battery for the BIOS chip? If not, maybe the problem is the battery is too drained from the ISL being shorted. If you had another Razer laptop from the same guy, try the other battery in the machine, and see if that works. Anyways, great video as usual! Maybe could be useful to bring the "stream" switch station closer to you since I see you always have to stretch to reach it for us to see microscope input and so on, maybe if it is closer you do not have to move that much, but I don't know if you got enough space near you (maybe just under the desk with a simple support? idk) :)
