Using liquid metal on Copper heatsinks/heatpipes is a bad idea. Overtime, it gets absorbed into the copper and your temps will shoot through the roof again. In order to use Liquid Metal on copper stuff, it needs to be nickel plated to prevent absorption.

That is not completely correct. I know you did your due diligence in adding the liquid metal to increase better cooling but what about adding the same safe guard that the PS-5 uses like that black material they put around the chip to keep the liquid metal from running off into other components. It seems to work well. I'm sure that material is easy to get and would ensure that no LM would get out of place. I've seen other sites where a repair person would find LM all over the mother board because the user had the same idea as you but the LM got away from the chips. I'm going to do the same on my computer but I'm also going to get some of that material to set up around the chip. I recently did a thorough cleaning on my Dell XPS 9560 and found old dried thermal paste. The computer is over 5 years old. It runs fine but I did notice before I opened it and gave it this thorough cleaning that the fans did run quite often and the bottom of the puter was getting much warmer than normal. Right now with the new thermal paste, all is good but I want to make sure I have more years of use. So far, only problem I've had was a bad power cord end and replaced that along with the plug in. It had formed a short in the end plug where it goes into the puter power receptacle. I'm even still using the same battery but it has diminished in it's longevity. IT was originally a 6 hour battery but now down to 2 hours. This computer stays up and running 24/7 and has been from the day I bought it. Great Show!!

liquid metal is good for thermal transfer, but otherwise is nasty stuff the thing that it's used for ps5 (due to thermal and space constrains, also probably to make planned obsolesce) does not mean is good for everything, there is compromises to make, and most of the times (99%) on computer's CPU and GPU good quality thermal paste is good enough without all the nasty things that liquid metal can do. If you use liquid metal on laptop, it would be nice to put some foam or similar material around the die to prevent liquid metal from spilling out as laptops are caried in various positions moved and tossed around.

if you are refering to the small fans close together, im pretty sure those are fans for the battery, the cpu and gpu are usually cooled by the heatsink he removed and checked.

I think you should disconnect the battery before working on the screen connector because you could accedently send battery voltage down the GPU lines and short it out. AH OK YOU DID IT AT THE END

I think that because is a gamer laptop, the owner want to have better thermals in games and general, so he touch the BIOS and adjust the fans to be full speed at some grade or similar. So I recomend check that too. Because liquid metal not use to make a huge change in notebooks, cause the true cooler sistem is the fans and radiator, and don't use to be too much powerfull in laptops, of course if the thermal paste was a bad brand and act more like a thermal insulator, but this days are all good.

Oh that’s your problem. You’re putting way too much thermal paste and that nail polish stuff. You’re insulating the cpu with that polish. You want just the thinnest possible amount of paste because what it does is fill in microscopic variances on the heating to maximize contact to the cpu and when you put gobs on you’re effectively insulating the cpu and defeating the purpose

I see one design aspect with the razer that i dont like The fans vent to a space that the hinge sits in I prefer my fans to vent to unobstructed space
