I have the Huntsman V2 with linear optical switches. The V2 had a pro version I think that used the analog type switches but I didn't care about that and went with the cheaper version. I have watched a fair amount of keyboard reviews, some of them featuring the board I have. And all of them seem to greatly amplify the noise of the board. Even if I try to type as noisy as possible, by just straight hammering on the keys, it still doesn't sound as loud as the review vids. And if i use a more normal amount of force it's nearly silent. In fact if I go slow and really light it is hard to hear anything at all. So I don't really know what to think about the V3 version. A lot of reviewers have said it sounds bad, but I've got some other keyboards they should try if they think the Huntsman is bad, lol. I wish I could get one as a loaner or something to try it out side by side with the V2, but I'll probably end up buying one at some point anyway. I kinda need the white version since everything else in my system is white.

I think the problem is price point and competitors like Keychron and Wooting. The keychron K2 HE and Wooting 60HE/80HE cost the same or less and sound objectively better with better software than synapse that is better now but still a drain on system resources. Razers has been kinda goofy the past few years honestly. The mouse lineup imo is amazing and the new DAV3 Hyper and Viper Pro are fantastic and top of class in performance, but the keyboards are just kinda meh.
@wallywest23604 ай бұрын
@@Mcivstx I came to the same conclusion. Ended up buying a barebones Keychron Q5 and putting TTC silent frozen switches in it. Roughly the same price as a Razer but so much better in every way. Unfortunately I still have the Razer Tartarus as a left hand controller so I'm still using synapse. Thinking about replacing it with the Keychron stand alone numpad. VIA is amazing, especially since it doesn't hog any resources.

What do you think about apex pro tkl 2023 wireless?
@Mcivstx4 ай бұрын
The Apex Pro TKL or atleast the 2023 version is kinda a disappointment. It is just a minor refresh of the old 2019 board with a slightly different designed (not really better or worse just different). I found the keycaps to be not the most stable and dislike they cheaped out and used a mixture of mechanical linear switches and hall effect switches. (main 60% is halleffect and the function row and etc are just the steel series red switches.) If you like the idea of the apex pro just get the old wired 2019 version and save 70-100 bucks. Compared to the razer the keys are less stable and the hall effect functionality is not as accurate and more jumpy with small inputs. The screen is cool but after a day you just realize is kinda a gimmick.

Great review, concise but thorough. Currently deciding if I should return my Apex Pro TKL and get this instead. I’ve had issue after issue with the GG app and have been pretty disappointed in it overall, though it feels nice enough to use. I actually already have synapse for my Deathadder V3 Pro and haven’t had any issues, but I only use it for for dpi adjustments really. I figure it would still be better using one crappy software that I’m already running anyway, rather than two haha. It’s too bad, I’d probably look at something like the Drunkdeer A75 Pro instead but I’ve got a credit at bestbuy, so my options couldn’t be more limited.
@Mcivstx4 ай бұрын
I’ve tried all 3 of the best buy hall effect keyboards and in my opinion the Turtle Beach/Roccat Vulcan II Pro TKL with aftermarket key caps was my favorite but it doesn’t have a snap tap mode yet. It has Gateron KS20 from the factory (sadly not hot swappable) which I found to be more consistent than the omni points of the Apex with less key wobble, Decent simple software (Only slightly buggy) with a simple yet rigid frame (still mostly plastic). The 2023 apex pro like you said was pretty disappointing. Key wobble was bad for the red switches and the omni points seemed a bit “jumpy” compared to the other 2. GG app is a mess and has no business having a whole aim trainer built in. The Razer was middle of the pack for me. The build was more plastic than the other two but the switches felt better than the Apex and were more consistent. In the end i kept the Vulcan and jumped on the wooting bandwagon and also got a 60HE as my work/travel keyboard. If i remember right the Vulcan comes in at 149 so far cheaper but you will need to fork out 20 or more for aftermarket key caps tho.
@HEATFANMAN034 ай бұрын
@@Mcivstx I can attest that the GG software is horrible. Also RIP to snap tap/socd/last win if you're a counter strike 2 player. Rapid trigger+turbo still works fine, which actually feels nicer imo but was slightly less advantageous than snap tap/last win before it became a kickable offense.

ah another awful razer keyboard. stabilizers for each key, which is completely unnecessary. loud clacky sound that doesn’t even feel good to type on. Synapse is broken and i swear every razer keyboard does the double type BS. i stopped using my old razer keyboard cause it always double typed when i didn’t want it to. made typing in games or in general a living hell. don’t buy razer or this keyboard. $200, when i know for a fact there are keyboards 10x better for half the price and less. buy a wooting instead of this if you want performance. buy anything else if you want a decent sounding keyboard. a lot of steelseries products have adjustable actuation, some go further down than others but it worked great for me.

Your Wooting keyboard sounds like shit. Wooting also looks so much worse. Why are people ok with their keyboards sounding like bones or some shit? how can you objectively say that the Razer sounds worse LOL? Wooting 60HE is also 60%, and not TKL, so you miss out on so many keys, I'd rather pay more and have the TKL with extra keys. But you do have really small hands, not everyone is like that...
@Bersteafy7 ай бұрын
You are genuinely brain damaged. The Wooting sounds objectively better than the Razer keyboard. The build quality and sound of the Razer keyboard are both shit when compared to the build quality and sound of the Wooting. Plus, if don't want 60% you can get so many better premium keyboards with Hall Effect that are on the market right now like the Keychron Q1 HE or the Boog75 for around the same price as the Huntsman. Your opinion is invalid and you should be ashamed.
