Razer Seiren Mini Review and Sound Test in Discord, Warzone, and Foley (ASMR)

Something that helped me when getting the best quality for this mic is to go to windows settings and set the bitrate to the highest quality (usually called DVR quality) it improved the sound in-game and in recording/streaming a LOT (and, at least for me, helps with static)

That’s a great piece of advice! My mic was fine right out of the box, but this is definitely a setting can play with if you’re having issues.

I don't really see how that could help, but maybe since streaming usually compresses the audio quite a lot it maybe could help it out even though not necessarily directly?

Cheers! You’ve made my day :D This discord recording was done with stock settings, I’m sure you could make it better by turning off all the new audio enhancement settings in discord and whatnot, but this is what it sounds like stock!

Hey. So I noticed it sounded great on the intro but it sucked bad on discord and warzone. What do you use process/edit ur voice. Voicemeeter? Obs filters? Adobe audition?

I use no filters. As far as discord is concerned it actually sounds far better than it did in the recording (go figure). Mics on warzone usually sound mediocre and this mic is no exception. The reason their is a difference (in sound quality) is because its local sound of the microphone vs the how the microphone sounds online. Great question!

i have this microphone and i've been using it without a mic arm for more than a year and it doesen't sound as quiet as yours does, maybe yours has a problem or you have to change something from the settings, the original stand is fine

Great question! I honestly think you should just buy it and see for yourself. With that said in my experience it’s a really sensitive mic and picks up a lot of sound, BUT if you adjust the gain it MIGHT be fine. The super cardioid pattern will likely pick up the sound behind your mouth - the speakers - so it may not work, with that said your best option is to try it and see for yourself!

If you happen to have a spare speaker laying around, would you mind testing it out by putting the speakers behind the mic (out of the cardioid pattern) and see if the mic picks up anything at medium speaker volume? I don't want headphones as I'm planning to use it for zoom meetings and online classes, not gaming. It would be a bummer to pick it up for 50$ and then find out that I cant use my speakers😅 Thanks again!

If you have pluggins like waves you don’t have to have the mic close to you if you know to mix a little bit.

Great question! It’s really simple, you essentially want to unscrew the small rod that connects the mic base to the mic itself! At first it appears attached to the mic but it’s in-fact detachable. Once you unscrew it, the mic itself will be able to be screwed onto the gator frameworks mic stand. Thank you for watching the video and I’m glad it helped you out 😁

what discord audio settings did you use ? I bought the exact same mic and it keeps sounding like static and delayed

I used stock discord settings when recording the mic. I’m not sure why you’re having this issue, it might be the USB port (so try other ports). Next you can go to the sound icon in taskbar-> right click sound -> click on the recording tab -> click on the razer mic next go in and check the playback quality of the mic and mess around with the other settings in that panel. In discord mess around with the sensitivity settings and all the other mic settings too. If none of this helps then it might be the mic itself that has issues. This is the most advice I can give you, wish you all the best!

when i use this mic on discord m friends say the mic audio is terrible and when i do hear my voice it sounds horrible but when i record something with the microphone itssounds really good

Check the mic settings, and the advanced mic settings. Play around with those, that could fix the issue. It’s most likely some setting in discord, and if that doesn’t fix it then it might be a network issue. That’s all the guidance I can give :D good luck!

Thanks! I used Audacity to record the foley, it’s a free audio recording software (for win 10) and there are a ton of videos on using/optimizing it.

Hahah, you’re very right BUT the purpose was to demonstrate “foley” which is “sounds are used to enhance the auditory experience” so sound effects. For example the sound effects made for mortal Kim at use a lot of fruits (being manipulated in funky ways)
