Hi Joe, I do enjoy your content. (know, I'm posing my question a year after your introduction/review) In terms of ease of software use, intuitive interface, functionality, product reliability, and customer service, which in your opinion is a better choice. (or the one your would lean towards) Some reviewers, are a tad bit biased and tout the Sream Controller X as the greatest thing since sliced bread. ( a year ago) As you have far great experience with both products, I would appreciate your opinion regarding the Elgato Stream Deck and the Razor Stream Controller.

Hey there. First, thanks for the kind words. In terms of Elgato vs. Razor's Stream Controller, I need to go Elgato for a number of reasons. First, the sheer choice of stream decks to fit your needs, be it 6 buttons, 32 buttons or button/knob combos. Second, Elgato's software is easier and more intuitive that Loupedeck's software, which is really optimized for their hardware, not the stream controller. Elgato has more integration with so many more products, but if we are just talking Elgato working with Elgato vs. Razor working with Razor, Elgato's is jus a better experience. Then the final thing is just the number of plugins that exist and have been created for the Stream deck that don't exist for Razor. That race isn't even close. I feel like Razor has abandoned that whole thing since Logitech bought Loupedeck anyways.

Great review! I'm thinking about getting this one for my own setup. Do you know if its possible to setup a button to mute the mic in windows? I use an XLR-mic with no physical mute button. Thanks

Thank you for the kind words. If you are using the mic in specific applications (OBS Studio, Microsoft Teams) then you can assign the keyboard shortcut as a button in the Loupedeck software. If not, I believe there is a keyboard shortcut to mute it at a windows level (at least on Windows 11) that you could assign

I’ve been intrigued to see how far Loupedeck/Razer have come with the software, because that’s where Elgato has (had?) them beat for a long time. If the software is getting closer to Elgato in terms of features and user-friendliness, it might just make the Loupedeck/Razer Live/Streamcontroller and Streamcontroller X into more competitive alternatives to the orginal Streamdeck and Streamdeck+.

I think it's a good idea to have the cheaper stream controller available. I saw that loupdeck has a plugin for use with the Razer Audio Mixer. I'd like to see what kinds of hooks it has in it.
