I just bought 'em, hoped they'll produce better/stronger bass than my old kraken forged edition...total disappointment. they are quiet, I can barely feel the bass vibration, and sounds leak in and out. comfort...dude, headband has no padding, sometimes it hurts my head

Tiamat is the worst razer headset i tested, and i tested many, kraken 7.1 v1 still the best

Thinking wanna upgrade from v1.. But quite confuse the sound quality. Tried electra v2 worse sound than v1.. Worry tiamat v2 also worse.. Any advise?

Hey The Rabid Wookie. Nice review! Nice editing too. Hope you don't mind me throwing my opinion down here for people interested on the headphones haha. If you are a Basshead, do not buy this headphones. The bass is as good as the bass on my old Razer Electra (a really old headphones). Tiamat 2.2 V2 uses 50mm drivers while my old headphones uses 40mm drivers which means the Tiamat is supposed to have more boom and thud. And Razer also promises the Bass to be strong. But instead you get a very flat but clear sound. I would be okay with the headphones if it was advertised to be clear sounding but if you bought it for the bass just like me, you will be very disappointed. The switch (6:37) that The Rabid Wookiee mentioned is meant to act as 'bass boost' when turned on, but to me it only ups the volume. In conclusion, if you are a basshead, go buy Skullcandy Crushers Wireless instead which is at about the same price. Or the Sony headphones that everyone talks about (tried my friend's and it really have awesome bass). Good luck!

How do these compare to the orginal Tiamat? Currently waiting on an RMA for the orginals and tempted to get this one, is it a straight upgrade in quality etc?

I had the original tiamat 7.1, but i haven't been able to test the NEW Tiamat 7.1 I was only able to get my hands on the lower end version. I don't have a dedicated sound card anymore so i didn't really want to test that one, since the original you needed to have a dedicated sound card to get the best performance.
