For those unaware, the original black Wolverine V2 controller for Xbox Series X/S/One/PC had a slight defect in which the trigger and bumper grind against each other if you hold down the bumper while trying to pull down the same-side trigger. Because if the wire gets chewed up or ruined, then you don't have to go out and buy a whole new controller

I agree, I had a steam controller which I used wired to my PC, the micro USB slot didn't last long, controller completely ruined. Replaced it with a turtle beach recon, I specifically bought wired so I didn't have the usb port going loose again... But this was just usb c removable wired Well.. That lasted a couple of months, the whole point of buying wired is for it to be wired, not for it to have another failure point like usb connections like to do so easily

I have two Elite Series 2 controllers. I play mainly Rocket League on PC. I only played RL until Cyberpunk came out. I ordered this controller before I watched this, and it has not come in yet, but I am still excited because it fits me better and I'll tell you why. 1. I cant get used to the paddles on the back of my Elite controllers. Maybe its because of over 20 years of playing without them, my brain just does not comprehend them. 2. I am always plugging my controller in to charge it anyways, so I don't mind the wired aspect. Plus, for a game like Rocket League every millisecond you can scrape off your hardware's reaction time greatly improves the game. Even though wireless has come a long way, its still no comparison to a wire. And when you have a wireless keyboard, wireless mouse, wireless headset, wireless speakers, etc, having a controller that you know wont be interrupted by other wireless signals is a big bonus. 3. The Elite Series 2 controller is trash. I really want to say its good, but its not. I got 2 of these controllers and within two months BOTH controllers suffered from the dreaded thumbstick deadzone issue. Thankfully they were both under warranty (by only one week because the warranty is only 3 months.) I got 2 more brand new ones and within two weeks one of them started with the thumbstick deadzone issue. (If you don't know what this issue is, its when you are pushing any direction on the thumbstick and let go, the controller doesn't register you let go all the way, and slowly resets itself back to the center It's fkn terrible, especially with a movement based game like Rocket League.) So yes, out of the 4 Elite Series 2 controllers I have owned, 3 of them have been defective. 4. The Xbox controllers AXBY buttons are not tactile at all. They are as mushy as pudding on a summer day. So for me, a lot of the negatives you bring up are actually positives. Of course this is only my preference, and I obviously would not recommend the controller to everybody. But for me, it has everything I want, as long as it works as it should.

The PowerA enhanced controller has two remappable buttons on the back and it’s only $25. Plus a removable power cord. If you want adjustable triggers, they add that on the Spectra for about $40. I’m assuming the build quality on this Wolverine must be really good, but I can’t see $100 at all.

I still bought it because of my lack of use for all of the extra buttons plus on windows a problem controlling rbg as it literally wouldn't work. I sharpied the light because it was blinding at night haha. Only used the right bottom paddle on wolverine ultimate, and figured it wouldn't be hard to adjust to using the right extra button next to RB on this model. As for the cable, really only ever detached the original wolverine cable when it would freeze up on pc, then have to unplug and reattach to gain control again. What sells me is the supposed improved analog sticks, no rbg/removable d-pad and analog sticks, plus the benefit of always loving the feel of razor triggers and buttons. Oh and I never use rumble so it's all good their too. Guess I'm just the perfect candidate for this particular controller. As you mentioned, revamped original wolverine ultimate would be great! Especially for next years new replacement controller. As for this year well see how it holds up on pc haha.

I mean I recently got this controller for pc, and i dont play call of duty or anymore so i dont really need the back paddles or anything like that and im glad they didnt come with any. This is by far one of the nicest controllers ive ever had, the mechanical buttons are so crisp and precise, and it feels incredible in my hands. But i can understand why people such as yourself would be disappointed with the lack of features. There should definitely be an option to have paddles added to your controller and having the cable detachable. especially when theres such a hefty price tag on it.

I bought one as Fed-Ex managed to lose my Tournament Edition I had ordered from Razer. Got this V2 from Amazon and it's not as bad as I thought it would be. Having played with a Elite Series 2 since it's launch I expected to miss the back paddles ( I used 2). With the V2 I remapped my top buttons to match those on my Elite and it took about an hour for me to feel comfortable with their placement. The controller is incredibly comfortable in hand and I like everything about it. If Razer made this controller with the back paddles from the Tournament Edition and a removable cable it would be perfect. I love it's shape and how it feels in hand.

I have a fusion pro, a wolverine v2 and a powerA spectra. The fusion, while a good controller, gets grubby quick. Left stick also developed problems with foward movement after just a few month. The wolverine v2 went straight back in its box. While it initially feels good, the two extra buttons are pretty much useless. The back and start buttons are also in an awkward place. Not good for games like pubg. The powerA, especially for the low price, is brilliant. Has two extra buttons underneath, nice leds and the build quality is,imo, better than the standard xbox controller. If you don't want to spend much money, you can't go wrong with a powerA.

Could you please do a really small test for me? Most controllers don't pass this one. On the Dpad while holding right, move your thumb to also press up (while never letting go of the right dpad). In most controllers you won't actually feel the feedback of pressing the up button. Seems like only Xbone controller does this since has the tactile dpad. Other question, does the Wolverine V1 has tactile dpad? Pretty much your answer will make the decision of which one I buy so your input (hehe) is appreciated.

Great review, sad to see a Razer product flop but it happens. If you don't mind a bit of constructive criticism, I think that omitting the facecam from the top right corner of the screen would be a good idea when you're doing the hands-on shots of the product to make it easier to see. Keep the facecam for everywhere else of course, I just think it would help keep a better view of the product. The graphics and structure in the vid were really great though, very professional. I especially liked how you didn't rush through the sound test on the buttons, you did every button plenty of times to give people a good feel for the sound. Small detail, but lots of tech reviewers tend to glance over it in my experience. Great video

Have yall really not thought that this was for claw? Less ergonomic because of the claw grip, no paddles to get in the way, wider so your hands don’t cramp when too close, like c’mon guys its obvious who this controller is for

Got it for 75 on amazon today. I would agree i don't think it would've made sense over the other ones at 100+ dollars. I honestly only wanted to replace my dead 360 controller so this is more than enough for me.

What's the point of buying this controller to begin with? No paddles or extra buttons.

Do you know which KontrolFreeks are compatible with the V2?

I use the Wolverine tournament edition but I don’t use any of the back buttons. I think the grip is a little awkward and would like a more ps4 style grip. So do you think the controller would be good for me?

Why did you buy it if you dont use the back paddles? This controller seems perfect for your needs.

@@MetalMike56I got it used from a friend and loves the buttons.

the back paddles are made up for by the two extra shoulder buttons but a hardwired controller? that's what kills it for me.

I have the wolverine ultimate and it works with Xbox Series X. Btw how did you fit those control freaks on your Wolverine tournament?

Eyy, thanks for the video, I almost picked up the V2 until I found out how much they back pedaled on the quality and features. Picked up the tournament edition instead.
