The film is based on Sultan Razia, the Turkish queen of Delhi, ruled 1336-1340 AD. She had deep affection for her Abyssinian slave officer Malik Yakut. But the Turkish nobility couldn't endure the rule of a woman and her undesirable love towards a non Turkish slave. They conspired and killed Razia in a battle near Delhi. Yakut was also killed. The song is expressing the same agony of an unachievable love. ❤❤❤
