A few comments here asking about the title of the video. It’s a reference to many fans comparing Federer’s athleticism (or lack there of) in relation to Djokovic and Nadal who they consider far superior athletes. This video is a way to show people that athleticism isn’t just about speed or strenght, which I feel is what many put into the word. Athleticism is about more and can come in many shapes and form.

This is literally the first time I’ve ever heard of Federer’s athleticism being brought into question. He was every bit as athletic as the other 2. The fact that he made it look easier just means he was that much better an athlete.

One of the reasons people think Roger isn’t considered as quick as Djokovic and Nadal is because he reads the game and anticipates better than other players plus he is just effortless in his movement, ask any player who has played him such as Kryios -he makes you look bad . The only player in history I could never get bored of watching because you know he will play at least 2-3 shots in a match which will amaze you. Genius

@davidag903 ай бұрын
I'm not sure. Despite the "high tech" placed in the construction of his latest racquets, great mid-size units were available (and a weapon of choice for many players) since the early 2000's, and Roger never liked them too much. Only his aging and some changes in his backhand (proposed mainly by Ljubicic) convinced him of using a different tool.

If any human from the moment tennis appeared as a sport could be compared to God, that's Roger Federer. Shots that NOBODY else could hit, reading the opponents intentions as if he was inside their brains and last but not least a strategy that rarely failed to make Roger the winner of most maches are things that no one else brought to the tennis court, where Federer reinvented the game he was the only one able to play and probably God.

Federer won 16 Slams in his 20's and 4 in his 30's I think he kinda wore himself out during that period his 20's, Nadal won 14 Slams in his 20s and 8 in his 30's which is incredible but Djokovic won 12 Slams in his 20's but another 12 ,to date, in his 30's. Their respective longevity in their 30's was where the GOAT race was decided.😊
@Quality_Culture2 ай бұрын
Partially correct since main reason why Fed couldn‘t win more slams after 30 were the 5 and 6 years younger Nadal and Djokovic. After 2019 was there any GOAT contender for Djokovic and Nadal? Not really…. so that’s why.
@davebudge45262 ай бұрын
@@Quality_CultureIt's a strong point and you obviously know your tennis but I would say that a 25 year old Novak would get beaten by his 35 or especially 36 year old self, his returns, depth of his grounstrokes during rallies, his flat error free forehand and double handed backhand, quality of his serve both in speed, spin and hitting his spots were all superior and especially his playing the big points he maintained a level aganist the chasing pack in his early and mid 30s that no one else has ever done at that age.

It’s just personal bias that would cause anyone to say Federer is not athletic. There’s not a soul in the top hundred of the best players on the earth right now who aren’t very athletic, other wise they would not be there. Federer took what can be a grueling and extremely taxing sport and made it look easier than pickleball. He’s one of the 3 greatest movers in tennis history. He literally was never on his feet because his foot work was that good, and could maintain for hours even to the age of 40. You see it time and time again, people who are personally biased against him because they like another player or something will try to downplay his greatness saying stupid things like he’s not athletic. I’m a die hard Federer fan, but that doesn’t cause me to loose sight of the fact that djokovic is the goat. Just because djokovic is the goat doesn’t mean you need to look for reasons to down play roger federer as right there as well.

This is a huge, HUGE, error from the people. You can't play tenis like the big 3 without a perfect body build and preparation, and going to the 3 players in detail, agressive tenis like Roger's needs a lot of footwork, because you can't hit a perfect forehand or one handed backhand with a 97" racket like the pro staff without a perfect placement/location of the body. That's why his tenis aged so bad from 2010 to 2017, when he made the best preparation in years.
