Razorback 4k Ultra HD Bluray Collector's Edition Unboxing & 4k Review.

Once again I have a huge shout out to do for my good friend Conor Gray for gifting me one of the nicest editions I have ever seen for Razorback on 4k Ultra HD Bluray and this is brought to us from a company called Umbrella Entertainment who I think we should be taking notice of especially when you see the work that's gone into this edition.

Hey David. I remember the VHS so well but for some strange reason I never rented it out when I was younger and it almost disappeared completely over here. Thankfully because of Conor gifting me this amazing edition I finally got to see it for the first time and yeah really enjoyed this one.

One of the most striking aspects of Razorback for me wasn't so much the story, but the incredible cinematography by Oscar winner and native Australian Dean Semler. Semler's remarkable use of early morning and late evening shots on Razorback are foreboding and certainly add a menacing touch to the proceedings. In the modern age of Australian cinematographers, Dean Semler ranks as one of the best. His work on Dead Calm and Dances with Wolves certainly aided to the films stories and visual narrative.

I briefly mentioned that in the video about some of the early morning and late evening shots and how beautiful they looked on the 4K release. It was definitely one of the highlights for myself as well when it comes to this movie. It has its issues but I'm able to look past them particularly the similarities it has to Jaws and even though it comes nowhere close to that movie it's still a fun watch and I completely understand why Tarantino ranks it so highly.

I love this film. I remember seeing it for first time on BBC2 Moviedrome in 1988 . I taped it on to vhs as well as was excited about it as was directed by Russel Mulcahy who made Highlander . I used to own the Umbrella blu ray release of it and was good release.

Russell Mucahy also directed a lot of Duran Duran videos back in the 80s and you definitely Get That Vibe from this movie. I remember videodrome so well and you really do miss those days. It's one of those movies that almost passed me by and I know I was a little late to it but I had a great time with it. Great to see the movie get this kind of treatment. Very nice edition, thanks for the review. I saw Razorback when it was released on VHS in the mid 1980ies. I enjoyed it very much but haven’t seen it since. Director Russell Mulcahy, coming from music videos, would direct Highlander two years later. His special visual sense was already apparent in this little gem of an animal monster flick.

Beautiful edition Keith, I have seen this back in the 80's on VHS. Jaws on trotters, that made me laugh. I will have to check this out again, I don't remember too much about it. The artwork is really nice. The Australians have made some really great films, like Wolf Creek 1&2, I love those movies.

Hey Keith, really cool edition. interesting theory about putting the 2K version on a 4K disc I suppose that’s possible I actually have an SACD when you play the SACD layer of the disc you get Elton John it is an Elton John album but when you select cd, it’s Eric Clapton somehow they put a completely different album on the CD layer. Obviously it should be Elton John. one way to know check the bit rate obviously the 4K should be a pretty high bit rate. and in case you didn’t know on the Oppo player if you hold down the info button, it will break down the information in more detail. have a great one as always.👍

Hey John. I never thought to check the bit rate to see if it is a 4K disc because that would definitely confirm it and I will do that as soon as I get home. Believe it or not but something like this has happened before to me. I bought a Steelbook of one of The Purge movies and when I knocked it on it was the movie nobody. How the hell these mistakes happen I honestly do not know because on the disc itself has a picture of The Purge.

Got mine few weeks ago. There's a replacement program for the 4K disc. The 4K was region locked and there is a slight vertical stretching issue. Umbrella is fixing both issues and sending out discs to people who bought direct.

I picked up a few 4k’s (Second Sight Texas Chainsaw Massacre, VS Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2, VS Road House, and The Thing). Your reviews are great. I enjoy them. Even if I have no interest in getting or care for some of the movies you do, I still enjoy your process in the reviews. I have a request but not sure if you do sitcoms or even like this show. But it would be cool if you could review the new Blu ray complete set of Cheers. My favorite show of all time. Keep it up on your videos. Your theatre room is amazing btw.

Its the exact same player I'm using and the amount of features on it is staggering. Amazingly enough and you're not going to believe me when I say this but I'm currently watching cheers but it's on DVD. I didn't pick up the Blu-ray boxset because it's only available in the States but I'm hoping someday to get it and I can assure you I would have no trouble reviewing it on my channel. I agree. I enjoy those particular seasons too because of Woody Harrelson’s appearance in the series (S4 E1). I also favor the first five seasons over the rest of them because of Shelly Long. Although lots of people despise her but lots like her. I did like Kirstie Alley but just favor Diane. Also imho Cheers pilot was the best I’ve ever seen. The opening music when Danson comes from the pool room to the bar. The first customer approaching the bar being a kid. “How bout a beer chief?” Lol. The bar recently sold at an auction a few months back for around $700,000. Crazy

Definitely Shelly Long over Kirstie Alley but taking nothing away from her she done a fantastic job aswell. I'm getting close to the episode where Sam proposes to Diane again and she says no for the second time. It's a very funny episode

Hey James. I think it took me around a little over two weeks to get it. They do be quite quick and hopefully it won't take too long before you have it yourself. I'm not going to lie the picture quality looked very similar to the Blu-ray as a matter of fact it was almost identical but it still looks great.

This was a first time watch for myself even though I was well aware of the movie. It had fallen through the cracks of time but thankfully I was able to revisit it now and I had such a great time with it. Definitely worth checking out

I have an older blu ray of Razorback and would grab the 4K if it had Dolby vision for sure. The colours and camera angles are quite interesting in this movie. Pass for now.

There's no question about it i was very disappointing that there was no HDR or Dolby Vision and I completely understand why you would pass on it. I'm hoping that it was an error on behalf of umbrella. Willl have to wait and see

Yeah I'm not going to lie Nick it's not a great looking 4K transfer. I'm always saying it but if there is no HDR when it comes to the 4K then you're heading into Blu-ray territory. Thankfully I Never Owned the movie on Blu-ray so I'm quite content with how it looks
