I have one and to get the shave I prefer I have to load 3 feather blades. It shaves good. My only complaint it that I feel the spring is too light and the head too big. My wife now uses it to shave her legs. P.S. I was an original backer and got the rose gold finish. That finish had issues where its now turning black in a lot of areas. I send Leaf pictures and they sent me a brand new razor. Excellent customer service! If you like easy, affective and cartridge like shaves the Leaf is a great razor. Nice video.

I bought this so my girls could do their legs with all the DE blades I have gone away from like the new, not-as-good Astra greens that I bought my usual 100 box and got unpleasantly surprised by the change in the blades. They work great shaving legs, armpits etc. I must admit, I loaded up two halves of a Voskhod and shaved with it. Really liked the way it sets pressure and angle. Lets you cruise through a shave. Not good for sideburns and really hard to use under the nose. I grabbed my Game Changer for those spots. I really like the Leaf. If I were keeping it in my den I’d use it for the cleanup pass with 3 mild blades loaded. Treets or Derbys etc. It excels on the jawline and neck. Seems like it would be an okay dome shaver too, if you’re into that. Mom and daughter both love the Leaf. They leave it by my sink when it’s time to change the blades.

I just used mine for the first time and hopped on KZbin for reviews. As a woman, this razor really changes the game. I was trying a standard, fixed DE razor and found it difficult for the legs and underarms. The leaf razor feels just like a cartridge, and I'm not scared at all of trying it quickly in the shower next time. There's your market-- ladies looking to make the change :)

I was using Gillette’s Fusion cartridge razor for a long time and decided that I wanted less expensive blades. I ordered the combo pack where I got the Leaf and the Twig. Overall, I like the Leaf and use it on weekdays when I’m in a bit of a hurry. I use the Twig to clean up under my nose. I have used the Twig on its own and it did a fine job also. I especially like being able to take the blades out to clean between them. Can’t do that with a Fusion and it loads up quickly. After using these and watching your videos, I found a Fatboy and a Slim razor in good shape on Ebay and purchased them so that so could try true DE shaving. I tend to use the Slim on weekends when I’m not in so much of a hurry. I’m still blown away at the thought that I’m shaving with a razor that someone put together 60 years ago.

This is the best razor I have ever used! I’ve been using a de saftey razor for a while,but not any more. I get such a close ,irrigation free with this Leaf razor,it’s soo amazing. Also what a beautiful razor it is, I have the gold Leaf. You have to get one it’s that good, also if you go across the grain under the nose it’s perfect.

I’m a head shaved and the leaf with 3 feather blades gives me a faster, closer, and more comfortable shave every time. My go to for my head. But for my face I prefer a DE razor or their twig with feather blades!
@chrisbedetto87492 жыл бұрын
You name it I have it from a marker slant to a Rex ambassador. I was so tempted I'm buying the one razor Genesis. The reason why I didn't was because it used the proprietary blade. I really wanted to try a single edge blade but I really don't want to spend $350 for it to see if I liked it. I wound up buying a twig razor from leaf shave. Definitely a difference from a double edge but I love it. I then bought the leaf razor with the three blades using a double edge non proprietary blade. I don't believe you can get razor burn on your face with the leaf razor no matter what you do unless of course you don't use shaving cream. The only negative thing I can say about it is getting underneath your nose it's a little challenging but you can do it so that's really very little of a complaint considering it was only $87. Loved your review keep up the good work and I'll keep watching. Thank you

Totally agree with the running water Vs swishing in sink thing, just not the same at all. Plus running tap water is way cleaner?? Wish this razor had a smaller head for one or two blades only. The three is unnecessary

Thanks for this video. I'm trying to switch to a DE razor for environmental and financial reasons. It is not going well. It takes me forever to shave and I'm hacking my face to bits. I shave my head and have switched to the Leaf and twig over a Fusion. I bought a 100 pack of astra green de blades and I'm not even 1/4 of the way through them and I've probably evened out on cost now.... From here on its all savings!
@TheWilkReport6 жыл бұрын
Interesting tool, there! The biggest reason for me other than curiosity for switching to safety razors, was the high cost of replacement cartridges. I never really had any noticeable issues with razor bumps or ingrown hairs, only irritation. But shelling out $25-$30 for a four-pack of cartridges on my Gillette Fusion was killing my bank account. I am apprehensive about having to break a safety blade in half in order to load it into the razor. I hope the blades the site advertises coming with the razor come already prepared for loading. Otherwise, I'm uncomfortable doing that.

I was hoping you might have touched on the company's idea of recycling the razor blades since the Leaf razor offers to take back your razors to re-purpose them. I know that Abatross, another similar kind of company/brand which offers a couple DE razors of their own, has a Blade Take Back program where they'll take any blades from you to make silverware out of them. If you have any other helpful suggestions for what to do with dull blades, I'd be interested.

My experience with wet shaving so far: -Started with Van Der Hagen, which is a rebranded Weishi with rebranded Merkur blades. Mild razor, horrible blades. -Switched to Derby Extra Blades, which were better, but still far from perfect. -Switched to OneBlade Core with Feather FHS-10 blades. Decent razor, but aggressive blades. No more nicks and cuts, but razor burn came back. -Switched to Parker 96R with Parker blades. No more razor burn with Parker blades, but started cutting myself again. Will try Parker blades in a Leaf razor to see how that does.

very interesting! I Really really wanted to love the leaf razor. I bought one, and it works so well on most of my face. However, it just can’t get the hair under my nose, which looks ridiculous, so I have to have a separate razor which can get that hair. This totally defeats the purpose of having an environmentally safe razor. I tried something new, but I’ll be going back to a safety razor, which has never failed me.

Great review!! Just shaved with the leaf razor and Twig before watching this video! Excellent as the day I bought it!! I'm now preferring Feather in the twig. Works best for me that way. Other blades I've used.. Although do the job.... don't feel as great as the Feather in the twig. For the leaf though, no special preference on blades. Works well with anything I've put in it thus far... I'm still experimenting after 8 months... I use all 3 slots as using only 1 or 2 blades didn't feel good for me.

The only razors I care about are the old Gillette DE, Muhle R41, Rockwell 6C and the Karve Christopher Bradley razor. Those are the only razors that give me REAL shaves. I find the head on the Leaf to be way too big and that the black stoppers on the bottom of the razor scraped against my skin way too much, great price since any DE Blades can be used with it it's just pretty cumbersome in size and the pivot is very very sensitive, I really like the idea though you should give the Focus Dynamic R48 a shot pivoting head with a single DE blade great video

You're probably actually saving water by rinsing under the Tap as and when you need to, rather than filling a sink full of water and then after the first pass needing to empty it and refill it with clean water again. When I use cartridge razor I'll just swish in the sink but if I'm using a DE razor or the Leaf razor that I've just got, I'll rinse under the Tap as and when I need to.
