I truly enjoy your videos, the editing is very nicely done so that the videos are not too long and thus its easy to find time to watch them fully, sweeden is a beautiful country and you let it show on the videos, your english is very clear and easy to understand, the video story is interesting and told in a very entertaining way. I'm an old guy, from back when women were tought of as delicate beings that would never be able to do heavy work, so it still wows me a bit when I see you loading 600 Kg pallets with ease, driving large trucks with a single hand, I must admit that it stuns me every time 😲 ... wish you the best and drive safely ... cheers!

Awesome video. As always. I find it interesting to see how the trucks are different from what I'm use to as an American. I think it's really cool how the trailer is different. What I'm used to is a 53 foot (roughly 16 meters, if I'm not mistaken) trailer with 2 doors at the back. So seeing the folding doors on the side of the trailer are really cool. Seems like it would make things much easier and efficient to load and unload. It's also nice to see a bad ass trucker lady. I'm a man, but I know a woman who has inspired me to pursue a CDL. Commercial Drivers License for anyone curious. I think it's an HGV in England as I understand. Not sure what it is called in other parts of the world. I'm sorry for rambling. I would also like to say thank you to Trucker Cassie for being a bad ass trucker lady, and being an inspiration to my pursuit of a CDL.
@CreRay Жыл бұрын
Actually the folding doors in the side are specific to the nordic countries, in the rest of Europe they are illegal as the trailer gets slightly too wide. It's a stupid rule but only refrigerated trailers are allowed to be 2,60m wide, instead of 2,55m for a normal one, to allow for the isolation. Then again Cassies trailer is refrigerated (but not isolated I guess) so in that case it might be legal? Anyway, on the continent you don't see these.
@davidsappington4415 Жыл бұрын
@@CreRay Interesting. As I said. I know very little of trucks. What I've seen of European trucking comes from Trucker Cassie of Sweden, and Jemma Warren of England. Though Jemma drives a dump truck, or a Tipper truck as I understand its called over there? I've no clue about trucking on mainland Europe. Germany or France for example. I find it really cool to see the differences on how things are done there. Not that I know anything about how it's done here in the U.S. lol
@CreRay Жыл бұрын
@@davidsappington4415 Most differences between US and EU trucks are due to legislation and historical reasons, the legislation of course reflecting local road conditions. US trucks are more aerodynamic, lighter and drive faster, EU trucks carry heavier loads, must fit tighter length regulations (hence use of cabovers), but axle loads are higher, and are more fuel efficient. The US (California) has been leading in emission regulations since the 90s. Manual transmissions have become almost completely extinct in the latest European trucks. One interesting feature about US trucks is the movable trailer axles, you don't see that in Europe. Note that when Cassie said she was hauling 60tons, she means 130,000lbs! In the US that would be a special transport.
@davidsappington4415 Жыл бұрын
@@CreRay Interesting. I think I heard something about European trucks being automatic. I didn't know that the trailer axials were static in Europe. Of course I did know they were able to be changed here untill I saw that happen in person! Imagine my surprise! Lol. I knew about the European trucks being COEs. As I understand that's mostly because of the smallerb tighter roads. I have a LOT of respect for the European truckers, maneuvering on those tight roads. I'd have trouble walking those roads! Much less driving a truck on them!
@CreRay Жыл бұрын
@@davidsappington4415 A fair degree of trailers in Europe have 1 or 2 lift axles, which automatically raise when the load allows it, some have steering axles. Moving axles are not needed because of the higher allowed axle loads. The automatics are not like the ones you have in your car, they are "automated manual" gearboxes, which are mechanically equal to a manual gearbox. It's mainly city buses and garbage trucks that have "car-like" automatic gearboxes, which shift smoother but have less gears and are less efficient. The main reason for the automatic gearboxes is the unbeatable fuel economy. Yes, driving in Europe can be very challenging, like the work that Cassie is doing. But also easy jobs exist, like driving containers, where you just drive from one industry site to another.

I´ve been in that situation that i needed help with superheavy pallets and uneven asfalt. There is a problem though, i think the pallets/goods needs to be inside of the receiver, in this case the store before someone can help you with that. It has to do with insurance, if someone helping you with 600kg pallet and it for some reason drops on the storeworkers(helpers foot, then we have a problem. Or if he/she falls to the ground or anything else happening when helping you it will be a problem. But i will say that i really do understand you, sometimes i´ve screamed like a maniac to be able to transport the pallets on the pallyft from the truck to the inside of the store. Styckegods is not always very fun to deal with.

Hi Cassie 😊 good to see you again, sounds like you had what we call land sickness after your cruise, not very pleasant. Every day I have to move pallets with boxes that contain engine parts and I know how hard it is sometimes to move large quantities, in Argentina we call that car you use to move pallets "bitch" (bad translation into English, think about it). oh my, you're experiencing my daily life. I deliver pepsi products from the bottling plants to their warehouses in neighboring cities. No one ever thinks about how heavy a 2L bottle of soda is, but when you fill a truck full of pallets with sodas, oh boy! you feel that weight real quick. It's a shame you had to move that much weight manually like that. Pallets that heavy require a motorized jack or even better, a dock and forklift.
