Great video. I have a question if you could answer, when I put the charger on "storage mode" and my batteries are all hooked up, the storage mode goes through, but I never know when it is finished, I do not hear a beep nor does the LCD display "full" or "finished." Almost 90 min went by on the storage mode and I could not tell if it was done or not. Any ideas? Thank you in advance.
@RazorRC5 жыл бұрын
Chris Vallone hmm, i need to check that out as I usually use another charger for storage mode. You can just pull it though once it gets t around 3.8v/cell (I.e. 7.6v), it doesn’t have to be exact.

Nice review sir. I still love my ISDT however a dual charging option would be nice. I use a parallel board to charge several batteries at a time however it is limited as you can't charge batteries with different voltages. Keep up the good work sir

I have the HTRC T240 and absolutely love it. It appears it is the same basic thing as this one except it's a touch screen. My only complaint was mine came with a Chinese power plug, but a desktop computer power plug works, and I happened to have a few laying around, so that wasn't too big of a deal. I bought the T240 to replace a Venom ProDuo 80w x2 which I absolutely hated and got very little use from because one channel got "stuck" in some weird mode, so it only has one usable channel, and the menus are ridiculously difficult. The Venom is destined for the trash, I really love the HTRC T240. Some people complain that the HTRC fans are "loud" but it's really not bad. The fan on the left blows in, the fan on the right blows out. So there is a "cross wind" going through the charger keeping it cool. And it has built in temperature sensing that shuts the charger off if it gets too hot.

I have a starter FPV drone that takes simple 1S-4.35V Lipo. Would the connector plug right into the 'balance board'? Can I charge more than one battery at a time? Finally, can I stipulate/set-up a specific voltage level I want to discharge the battery to? thanks for the great review. Btw...if there's a better option for me...please let me know.

I wish you would have left the 100/50 split and then tried to charge on the right side at 8amps to see how it behaves and if it caps off at the 6-7 amps from 75 watt. Like to see if it auto adapts to your settings or if you have to set the power distribution in menu to get it to work.

@SpaceExplorer20003 жыл бұрын
Have you guys noticed that if you use the discharge function on channel 1 that it errors out it a couple of minutes with the message "OVER Int. TEMP CUTOFF". This continues every couple of minutes requiring you to restart the process. This exact discharge function fully completes successfully on channel 2 with exactly the same parameters and cables. I am assuming that this is not the same as the Ext. TEMP CUTOFF that you can set in the user settings. I have tested this on a couple of these chargers with the same observations. Tried multiple experiments, e.g. with/without temperature probes, default External Temp Cutoff as well as adjusting this parameter. Using new or used LiPo's give the same errors. Again, it works fine on Channel 2 but not Channel 1. Just want to see if anyone else experiences this.

Do they make a 150w per channel version? I have 5Ah 6s and 7.2AH 4s packs and they need 120-130w each atm I have an 150w and 80w charger so I have to charge one of them slowly. I already have 2 200w external power supplies too.
@RazorRC5 жыл бұрын
If you hook up an external power supply, this is supposed to do 120W per channel. I haven't tried it, but that's what the manual says.
@LawrenceTimme5 жыл бұрын
@@RazorRC yes I did see that. I would like a little bit of head room. I think it also only allows a single power input and unfortunately I have 2x200w psu, I don't think I could join them together.

I just ordered one, and it’s a bummer there is no EC5. But one question though, what do you think would be a good power ratio when charging a 6200 mAh 80C 2S and a 7600mAh 50C 3S lipo at the same time?
@RazorRC4 жыл бұрын
Shaunn Hartmann so... 6200mah you would usually charge at 6.2amps. 7600mah at 7.6 amps. 2S is 8.4v full charged, 3S is 11.1v fully charged. Watts = amps x volts 6.2a x 8.4v = 52.08 watts 7.6a x 11.1v = 84.36 watts So maybe like 58 watts and 92 watts?

Hello Razor, I'm getting back into the hobby after about 15yrs. Used to race Nitro TC, 2WD Buggy, and Truck, and 12 scale carpet. I'm considering a Tekno 4wd, But I'm not sure what batteries I'd need. I am considering this charger due to its flexibility, and features. What do you recommend, will this do the job for what I need? Thanks & Sub'd!!!
@RazorRC4 жыл бұрын
1/10 scale off-road race kits all use shorty 2S lipos except for short course trucks which use 2S full size stick packs. If you're running 1/8 E-buggies like the Tekno EB48, then they use 4S stick packs.

Considering getting it. Still wanna know how it does charging 2 at a time though if that’s something it can do? 2 5000 mah 2s lipos is what I planned using it for
@RazorRC5 жыл бұрын
2 5000mah 2S lipos would be a piece of cake for this charger. 5000mah * 8.4v means it needs about 42 watts of power per channel, and this has 75 watts per channel. So plenty of power to charge both batteries at the same time.

Isnt it that way that all charging mode use Balancer at the end, but "Balance Charge" charges ONLY over the balancer?!
@RazorRC3 жыл бұрын
no, balance charge should use the main leads and charge at full amperage (5-8A or whatever). when some cells get too much of a difference from the others, it switches to charging only on those tiny leads on those cells that need it, and at very low amps like 0.2A. Regular or fast charge completely ignores the balance leads and just charges up to full voltage which is the sum of all cells, it doesn't care if one cell is at 4.4v and another is at 4.0v.
