This was my first Corally car. I've only has two days of bashing with it, but ive been VERY impressed with how durable it is. I've had some brutal crashes with it and at a skate park no less, and the rear of the body sometimes gets stuck under the wing, minor scratches besides that, really not much else. Up there with the MT10 and Kraton 6S EXB for stock durability, IMO. My biggest complaint is the stock power on 4S. I might need to 15 tooth swap like you did. They gave it a wheelie bar, yet I can barely get it to wheelie in stock 4S form 😂

@Boogie_the_cat22 күн бұрын
Wing mount and wheelie bar from Garage Life RC $35 and worth every penny. Yeah, it's 3D printed, but let me tell you how strong it is... It's printed with flexible TPU and it's a beast. Funny enough I've never done a wheelie with my Kagama 6, but the mount keeps my wing from shattering as well. My K6 runs so hot I have it geared with a lame 11t pinion and I still can't hit full throttle. Running a Max 8 G2S which i will flush down the toilet next month and swap for a Mamba Monster X. My motor is cool as a cucumber but my ESC regularly hits 200 degrees on 6s and I'm tired of bashing for 5 minutes, looking at temps, bashing 5 more minutes, 🔥👀. This may be a "me" issue as I run a 2+ pound battery, and maybe my Max 8 ESC was a dud. Still, I'll be really happy to finally put it in the toilet where it belongs, because it's been a big headache. PS: by "the toilet" I mean my Felony, because it'll be nice to have a sensored setup on that car. But as far as powering a 15+ pound truck, the Max 8 G2S belongs in the toilet with my rubber ducky.

One more great and helpful review. Well done, great content. One question: this one ore the Arrma VORTEKS 223S BLX?
@DoRC2 ай бұрын
Depends. If you want something a little smaller go with the 223S. If you want something a little bigger or no for sure you're going to be upgrading something like the ESC or the receiver I say go for this. The only caveat is that this is still a little bit of an unknown quantity as it's brand new. It is based on the Synchro which has a good reputation so I suspect it will be good long-term but that's always a risk.

If I hadn't just picked up an EXB Kraton, I'd be jumping on this. I can't help but treat every RC as a race car, I don't really want wheelies. I like 200k mid, 10k ish front, and heavier rear, like 30-50k. Makes it drive kinda like a 2WD.

The hinge pin block at 5:01 looks more likely stamped. Machining marks are not like that. Marks along the thickness indicate the edges was met with a tool and die edge. - edit which is even better as a flat stamp usually adds hardness.

I put 100,000 in the center diff in my syncro 4, i left the front and rear stock as they felt really good anyway although im no expert on diff tuning really.
@DoRC2 ай бұрын
Neither am I. I think 100K is what comes in the stock but I could be wrong
@iainlee46802 ай бұрын
@@DoRC its probably meant to have 100k in there but mine definitely wasnt as it was super loose. But considering how good the car is that was a minor inconvenience. If this kagama is even half as good as the syncro then its worth the money in my opinion. Great video by the way.
@DoRC2 ай бұрын
@iainlee4680 in my opinion it's better. You get a center brace and an overall more usable car. I'm not sure what secret sauce TC uses but it's amazing to have a car that is composed over really rough terrain yet can still land a 15 ft high jump without bouncing upside down.

How would you rate this against the Valkyrie?? For 300$ i don’t think it has it beat.. From what I see, the only advantage are the driveshafts…I really don’t like the plastic shafts.. Doesn’t seem to be as fast as the Redcat..but still looks pretty good. Hard pass for me…maybe the Punisher??
@DoRC2 ай бұрын
I'd say it's well above the Valkyrie. The Valkyrie is fun but it's not a very precise instrument. It doesn't handle the best tends to get jammed up with debris has fairly vague steering etc. This car handles way better and I think will be a better vehicle long-term. Don't get me wrong The Valkyrie is incredible value for money but that cost saving does show.

How does it compare to the Kagama 6s?
@DoRC2 ай бұрын
Feels like it's a little brother. That's not really a huge surprise given that it kind of is but the suspension tuning and everything is on point just like the 6s one. Out of the box it's pretty darn slow but that's easy to fix. Overall it feels like the 6s just smaller

What brand pinion did you use?

Just some random junk I had in my gear bag. I would recommend tekno. They make good stuff
@christopherzatalokin86522 ай бұрын
Without some good fans they likely are looking to keep down on heat with the original pinion/spur setup.
@DoRC2 ай бұрын
Maybe though even with The 15 tooth pinion it was still fine. Obviously a fan is a good idea but doesn't seem necessary with 15

Go through 20pks and review the diffs please
@DoRC2 ай бұрын
I'm not sure I have 20 packs on my Synchro but I do have quite a few. The differentials are a known quantity as they've been around a while. They're pretty durable though the output cuffs aren't quite as long wearing as the S2 ones that you can get on the Kagama.
@dyllwoods47912 ай бұрын
Thanks for this info mate from nz

I literally just add grease to each differential. Whatever is in it + grease front, center, and rear diff
@DoRC2 ай бұрын
In most cases that would actually thin out the fluid that's in there and grease and silicone oil don't really mix well.

I really hope TC starts building large scale trucks and buggies. I'd love an Asuga XXXLR. A 1/5 scale 4x4 8s basher buggy. It's insane to me that nobody offers one.

@DoRCАй бұрын
I didn't have any issues but whether or not you do will probably just depend on the type of train you're rashing in and you're bashing style. It's a pretty decent sized motor for the vehicle so, especially with a fan, it'll probably be fine.

So here's the thing. I accidentally left it in the little holder during the 4S bashing session and it is gone. I spent an hour trying to find it and I can't. I could see it on my phone but just could not figure out where it was. I even used a little app that gave me signal strength and no dice. It must have gotten buried or something.
