This is exactly the amount of power needed. Too many times people over do it. Im glad to see you get to 170 on 4s just using brain power and physics! This is why i watch your channel raz!

you nailed it. More motors + more batteries = more weight and only minor (if any) top speed increase. Some people just don't get it. If you aren't fully discharging the batteries per run, you've got too much reserve energy you're carrying around. I've been talking with an engineer about using capacitors instead of more batteries.....a cap will give you x amount of volts and amps in a very small package and you ONLY need to hit max power output for a second. a 120V 50 amp cap is a little bigger than a single D cell alkaline battery. That's almost enough to kill you. (enough if you're wet).

Hey Raz, how'd you approach a decent setting on the Perfect Pass with a car that's so small and easily upset compared to your larger scale runners? I'm running a WLToys chassis myself, basically a spiritual predecessor to those cars of sorts so they behave rather similarly under load. Also, would you recommend setting a small amount of drag braking to let it slow down on its own at the end of a run? 🙂

Hey Raz! Quick question if you see this. I just got a Rlaarlo ak787 carbon and plan to throw a Castle Mamba X on it With a 1406-1412 motor. Its been a while since ive bought electronics. Any advice on which length motor would be better and what kv to stay around for 3-4s speedruns? Or if i should go bigger motor? I have a Sidewinder-3 5700kv kit on another car from years ago that works pretty well, but im just itching for more speed. Thank you!
