The Emoji Movie deserved to win 4 Golden Raspberry Awards for Worst Picture, Worst Director, Worst Screenplay, and Worst Screen Combo. The jokes are so annoying and uninspiring that they literally fall flat, there is blatant use of product placement such as Dropbox, Candy Crush, Just Dance, Instagram, Twitter, and Spotify, the emojis look ridiculously bad in computer-animation, the plot is generic, the climax is so very dull and slow that it shows the human character Alex's phone being put on factory reset at the cell phone store, and the movie completely rips-off Wreck-It Ralph, The Lego Movie, and Inside Out. The movie is definitely a pile of poop (💩) and the poop emoji is the best and most fitting thing to describe it.

Tom Cruise was 100% predictable. He plays a jerk who got no idea whats going on, which is very realistic considering his situation (how would you act after surviving horrible plane crash and having visions of unknown lady talking to you in unknown language? I'd be confused as much as Tom Cruise) and Hollywood always push cartoonish charming heroes archetypes, anti-heroes are still niche. In addition he's fighting islamist terrorists and becoming (you know who, don't wanna spoiler it) which is "problematic" for current political trends. Too bad audience prefers fictional "comic superheroes" fighting fictional aliens than actually morally challenged "heroes" whose greed is saving ancient artefacts from geting destroyed by radical groups which is a serious problem Hollywood seems to ignore. Really glad they shown it in The Mummy, and the movie became a hit outside USA, possibly paying attention to this ignored act of vandalism.
