I watched Music and I agree it was a crappy movie, but their ACTING performance was fine. If Maddie did a "bad" job playing a person with severe autism and wasn't believable, I could give her the "worst actress" vote, but her performance was decent. I don't get the argument that only people with autism should portray characters with autism. Apparently Dustin Hoffman didn't get the memo when he won an Oscar for Rainman. Sounds like more political correctness run amok.

The Razzies are meant to be a joke or for fun. They started in 1981 because of the amount of bad movies that came out then, they thought there should be a counter point to the Oscars that reward the bad of cinema. It's not to be taken seriously, it's meant to be tacky and trashy. The Razzies don't really harm the career of the people they reward, so no it doesn't really mean much like the Oscars do where just being nominated gives a huge boost to the person. Anyone who takes the Razzies seriously just completely misses the point of them.

It was already announced a while back that there would be a special award for 2020 as the worst year. Ironically, I was so dissatisfied with today's results that I'm kind of wishing someone else would give a similar trophy to the Razzies. Not the organization in general; just this edition. On the positive side, they did a good job when choosing images for the video. Instead of just putting the first photo they came across, they clearly chose the one that made each nominee look goofy. By the way, when I saw that there was no Redeemer Award among the nominations, I thought "Oh, OK, that means that this year there's just the automatic winner so they won't reveal it until the ceremony"... but no. Seriously?! There were plenty of contenders for that!

I am surprised, although it was a somewhat strange edition. 365 had everything to win, it could easily have tied Worst Movie with Music, but now that I think about it: Absolute Proof deserved that golden raspberry, and about Mike Lindell, the award for Worst Actor would have gone to Adam Sandler or Robert Downey. Then there is the award for Worst Director, Charles Band could win it for the 3 Barbie and Kendra movies, but it is obvious that they are misdirected on purpose so it did not deserve to win it, I would have given it to the directors of 365 since Sia is just starting out and hopefully winning this award doesn't mean the end of her career. For Worst Supporting Actress it should be the Polish Dakota Johnson. And this is where the controversy becomes, Rudy Giuliani was a victim of the hidden camera, so despite making a fool of himself he did not deserve the Razzie, that award should have been taken by Schwarzenegger or Bruce Willis. In Worst Supporting Actress, I think she deserves the Maddie Ziegler award although I admit that I felt sorry for her, if she had had the time or the talent to represent an autistic character (as Dustin Hoffman once did), I am almost sure that she would have It went better (although the most logical thing would have been to hire a person who suffers from this disorder, right?), and if it was not her, it should had been for Lucy Hale the Raspberry. For Worst Combo on Screen they changed at the last moment the nomination of Rudy Giuliani and Maria Bakalova for Rudy Giuliani and the zipper of his pants, which seemed like a robbery at first but if you think about it, he deserved it. And if not, then it should be for Harrison Ford and that totally fake looking CGI "dog". In Worst Prequel, Remake, rip off or sequel it should have been tied between Dolittle and Fantasy Island. And for Worst Screenplay I have no complaints. But there were missing movies, how many? uff, let's see: - The Grudge (reboot) - Birds of Prey - Bloodshoot - Artemis Fowl - The New Mutants - Mulan - The Witches (remake) - Monster Hunter And I don't know why there were no nominees for the redeeming Razzie, but my nominees would have been: - Jamie Foxx WINNER (from being nominated for Worst Supporting Actor in Robin Hood to being critically acclaimed in Soul) - Anthony Hopkins (from being nominated for Worst Supporting Actor in Transfomers 5 to winning the Oscar for Best Actor in The Father) - Dakota Johnson (from winning Worst Actress in Fifty Shades of Gray to being praised in The High Note) - Zack Snyder (from being nominated for Worst Director for Batman v Superman to the acclaimed and enhanced Zack Snyder's Justice League) - Universal Pictures (from co-producing Cats to co-producing The Invisible Man)

I was disappointed Gal Gadot didn't even get nominated for Worst Actress. I didn't see the first film but if she was "mesmerizing" in that one, her performance must have been 50X better than the sequel, since she was flat and boring throughout Wonder Woman 1984. Ironically, she's much more charming and likeable just being herself off-screen in interviews!
