the rotor direction is dictated by the direction of the inner brake rotor veins. some rotors will have directional veins that indicate the direction of installation. when rotors have by-directional veins (vertical veins) the rotors can be used in either direction. although you want to slots of the rotors to rotate into the brake pad and not sliding it away from it. The direction jimmy displayed would be the slots in the "wrong" reversed direction where they are sliding away from the brake pads. once again its more crucial about the direction of the inner veins, than the slotted direction for appropriate heat management. Each manufacturer will have their own correction directions for installation and should be referenced when installing new rotors!

2:50 auto tech here, according to ASE drilled and slotted rotors should be the way you have them. The fins could be square or will go in that direction. But you’ll never see the fins go opposite the direction of the slots.

You used a 3 litre RB Australian style Jimmy being an Aussie you do the RB world proud and that's why the 3 L sounds that much more throaty than the 2.6 . Plus the power is more linear so will fly thru the gears . You need the bigger brake disc's as the NAones are way to small for the power you will make . I always do brakes as first upgrade b4 any engine mods as they are more important than power . Wheels tyres brakes suspension diff gearbox motor work usually in that order , body work is always last as that's the most expensive part and driving the car around in primer has never been a problem lol .

the slots and drilled holes dont matter what way theyre going. Its the veins in the middle of the rotors that dictate what way theyre supposed to be on. Only straight veins are able to be put on either way.

the brakes are all interchangeable I've taken r33 gtst 4 pot calipers and fitted them on my 200/240sx , the s14 , the s15, r32, r33 , r34 all brakes are interchangeable, the bolt pattern on the calipers are the same, disks might vary in size and (r33 was bigger that on my 200/240sx and 5 hole disk needed to be drilled to 4x114)

The theory behind a drilled and slotted rotor is to 1 to disperse heat faster. The holes.... 2 the slots, to allow brake dust to disperse and not collect at the pad....... facing the slots backwards would force the dust to the center of the rotor to be dispersed... facing them backwards alows the dust to be forced to the outside of the rotor to be dispersed... jusy my thoughts on it...

@2:17, never use the same oem diameter rotors,... you always upgrade to a 350z rotor and use the adapter brackets on the z32 calipers. that way you get the biting force of the z32 caliper but the heat dissipation, and the leverage from the larger diameter 350z rotors. oem sized z32 rotors on high hp cars is just begging for brake fade.
