Here's the new Rock Band 4 DLC for 9/26, and ooooh boy this chart is terrible. Take the Scream Aim Fire RB3 solo, and put it in the song like 4 times. The solos in this song are out of control. A total disaster. This was the best run I was able to pull off tonight, but I'm sure I could get 450K with enough grinding, and doing well enough spamming the solo sections. NOTABLE SECTIONS:
2:58- this is the most do-able spam section there is imo
3:36: Probably not too bad if you would practice it. Not really spammy like the other sections.
4:05- this bridge is a pain to play. Those little hopo sections between strumming sections are very tough to combo through. This was an especially bad run.
4:16 - 4:20- go fuck yourself.
5:20- probably do-able, very fast.
5:48- go fuck yourself.
I don't think this is getting FC'd any time soon. The only person who can do it is Will or Darkly, and this song will suuuuck to grind. Good luck to whoever is dumb enough to grind this song for the FC.

Well the good thing with RB4 is that last-gen guitars are actually compatible with the game, as long as you have an adapter. IIRC, it's about 25 bucks, so inexpensive compared to the $500 for a new bundle (key word new). If you don't feel like doing that, eBay would likely be your best bet (would have to be used.

Well you can still play all the DLC from before RB4, but i think in general the RB4 DLC selection is fairly weak.

Some of the DLC though like the recently new one Old Town Road by Lil Nas X, when I saw this I was like WTF? but then I looked back at RB2 and saw that how long ago when they released the Snoop Doog DLC but it was a rock mix, I really didn't know what to think about that but it honestly was weird. The Lady Gaga DLC felt like a shits and giggles thing. I liked the South Park Poker Face and the original version. To be honest, Lady Gaga isn't really part of rock but the DLC though, it felt at least to me acceptable. Idk that's just me. But this new song that's rap but listed as country? I couldn't even believe that like I had no words. I was just shocked. Some of the songs on RB4 are soft rock which really shouldn't belong in the game because when I think of rock, I think of jamming songs that you can enjoy and have fun listening to it. Bands like U2, and all the other soft rock bands out there, those are just songs I would listen to while eating at a restraunt, not something I'd jam too or play a plastic instrument to. RB4's DLC is honestly weak in some places. Some of its DLC I guess is ok but its not as great as RB2's. The setlist on RB4 though I gotta say is pretty awful except a few other songs. RB1 and RB2's setlists were pretty amazing and the bonus songs were great too.

Breakneck speed isn't used to make songs more difficult, it visually changes what the chart looks like coming down the highway. There are less notes on the screen at one time, and there are bigger spaces between the notes.

But regardless of whatever the intended purpose was, people who regularly use breakneck speed or hyperspeed use it because it makes it easier to play, not harder. The only time people use breakneck speed or hyperspeed to make it harder is when they adjust it to a level that is higher than what they are comfortable with.

@@aWiseMoose well for one, the clue here is the name. They didn't call it "make it easier", or "spread the notes out" mode. Breakneck and Hyperspeed are named accordingly. You are basically just using a vertical speed increase to counter the lack of horizontal acuity you are seeing.
