RBI Bans PayTM Payments Bank
On March 11th, 2022, RBI already restricted Paytm Payments Bank to onboard new customers and RBI was scrutinizing Paytm Payments Bank's actions concerning their compliance with the regulator.
On 31st Jan 2024, RBI banned Paytm Payments Banks from further deposits or credit transactions or top ups shall be allowed in any customer accounts, prepaid instruments, wallets, FASTags, NCMC cards, etc. after February 29, 2024, other than any interest, cashbacks, or refunds which may be credited anytime. According to RBI, this was done due to persistent non-compliance and continued material supervisory concerns in the bank.
All other Paytm services that do not involve the Paytm Payments Bank will continue their services even after the 29th of Feb 2024.

Vere account ileku maathnath aayirikum nalath. The funds which are already in the paytm payments bank can be withdrawn anytime, you wont be able to add funds after 29th Feb. Paytm is saying that they are trying to work with other banks to continue all the services, but we dont know how exactly it will go

29th feb inu shesham, paytm payments bank il ulla balance SIP aayi poyikolum, pakshe kooduthal amount athileku add cheyan patilaa. I suggest you to change the SIP debit account to some other bank as soon as possible 👍🏻

According to RBI’s press release, all credit transactions will be restricted except interest, cashbacks, or refunds. Not sure about the credit card reward points, I think its better to talk to their customer care to know exactly about the rewards points, hope this helps 🙂

If you hold paytm shares, Paytm share price dropped almost 35% since the RBI press release. If you hold other shares in Paytm Money platform, that is completely okay and safe, hope this helps 🙂
