Most of the RBI governors have been IAS officers till date. Around 14-15 out of 24-25 governors till today have been IAS officers prior to joining RBI. Moreover, you can never become the governor even if you join as Grade B at RBI. You can go upto the Dy Governor level max.

@@KunwarGSR you can't become an IAS at an age below 21 because the minimum age limit itself is 21. And there have been many economists(not civil servants) who were RBI Governors too. Before S Das, Urjit Patel was the governor. He was an economist. Before him, there was Raghuram Rajan. He was an MBA from IIM A and an economics professor at Chicago University prior to joining RBI as governor.

My uncle is IAS he is tensed 24x7 hardly have we seen him smiling this job is very hectic and pressuring, compare to that my colleague is a grade B officer so much relaxed and he enjoys his life to the fullest so everything apart ias job a very demanding and tough job, grade b very fulfilling job

Became a railway Clerk/OS under any SS/SSE of a station, that too near your home. It is much more relaxing than any RBI grade B job. 2-5 days workload in a month and then just relax for the whole month. Only income will be less. But see there's no traffic problems, like in Mumbai. Not that time bound too, like an IAS. Better family life and quality time. Even you have public dealings, here to a small extent, compared to RBI employees/offices. You make the salary of every commercial/operating/mechanical staffs. Responsibility is what makes you a mature man. IAS is a far better job than these clerical/PSU/RBI jobs. You have an impact on the public or atleast on the employees.

@@shivamsrivastava3774 Buddy, showing only positive side(money and lifestyle is this case) is half knowledge which is dangerous. I am not against him. He's a good teacher. But he always shows the fruit of Achievement ignoring the hurdles of the journey. Showing salary and perks initiates best motivation so it's easy to manipulate the students to sell the courses. But, a teacher is someone who'll make you aware of the positive as well as negative side of something and leave the decision upon you. And as for the watching, I was only sharing what I thought. Sorry if you got offended, that was not my intention.

IAS is not comparable to any job even RBI.... It provide diverse opportunities, authority , invaluable perks and above all the respect you command by your actions. If money and corporate life had been every thing then people with 50LPA would have not left jobs to clear IAS for 8LPA...the recent toppers like Srishti Dabas was earning 30 LPA in RBI but she left it for IAS, AIR 1 was earning 40 LPA as well.... But most of these guys when they enter services forget the purpose of their service... Forget professional satisfaction because you are not free to do anything on your whims. Remember professional satisfaction is very subjective. A tax paying citizen is also contributing to nation's service. PS- I believe that IAS has been very Overhyped... I myself admire their service but there is very hectic work life balance + pressures from all sides... The most coolest service I believe among all civil service is IFS (foreign Service). You get lot of opportunities to work at global level+ good work life balance

Bhai ye sab bolne ki baat hai IAS banane ke baad shif politicians ke under hi kaam karte rehe Jaoge aur kuch ni aur jo 30 lakh ya 40 lakh tak ki job leave kar ke aa rehe hai na unko pakka ek din regret hoga aur baat rehe shisti debas ki to bas 1 hi hai pata ni kyu unnone itna acha job leave kar diya kaha 30 LPA aur kaha vo 12 LPA per aa gaye 😌

you are giving examples of 1 or 2 people who are leaving well paid jobs to join IAS. Rest so many are still working in corporate with well paid jobs, some satisfied some not so much. They are happy working there and contributing in any way. Don't underestimate other jobs also. IAS do public service and meet lots of people, thats the nature of their job. They are not doing something out of ordinary. They have immense responsibility and mostly all do corruption. So please don't glorify one job and underestimate the hard work that other people do, without any corruption.

First get out of the mindset that just because you're from a non-English medium background, you're poor at English than a regular English-medium background student. Then start learning from the very basics. Read the Tenses and prepositions. Then read read and read. A lot. Read newspapers on a daily basis. Your English will improve like crazy. You'll be able to write with almost zero mistake. Then start watching movies/tv series etc in English. That'll improve your English speaking tremendously. I'm also from a Bengali-medium background but I never find myself anyway less knowledgeable or inferior to a regular English-medium background student. Have faith in yourself and work on yourself, and you'll be extraordinary in the subject.
