www.RCSparks.com - 1080p HD is the ONLY way this video should be viewed! Yup, I was floating around the internet and I came upon a pretty cool website! www.bluemonkeyrc.com is host to a whole bunch of custom parts for Trail Rigs and Crawlers. I am always searching for cool websites and blog-sites that sell scale stuff - and I think this one is worth mentioning. These white Delrin links I purchased are well made, and seem bulletproof! I looks forward to seeing how they do on the trails. The BEAST is certainly starting to look like a worthy TTC Candidate! A long way to go on it still.. but now we have the Steering and Suspension links all setup! To think I havent even wired the Electric Tekin motors yet?! I wonder.. do you know what I will use for an ES'C?!
Find out in the upcoming episodes of RC ADVENTURES!

First off all, CONGRATS on your child, hope everything is OK. Second, if it was me, i would flip the delrin links. I mean, i put the angle of the links up side up. That way the links and the driveshaft are symmetrical and parallel. A big thanks from Portugal.

I think it color coordinates the four basic colors = black, white, blue, and silver. Every corner of this rig has these colors. It's getting closer to the mud and snow, good job. PS: When you made the whoo sound, and said your floating, reminded me of the 60's and early 70's. Have I said too much?

Hey Medic, if you chassis mounted that servo it'd sort out the problem you are having with the steering link & drag bar. Level3RC have a good set-up for this inc. a panhard bar (others are available ;-) ), here is a video I made on installing it: 4WheelRCUK - SCX10 Rubicon Pt7: Chassis Mounted Servo & Panhard Bar.

Using O rings on the link ends at the bottom and top of the ball ends will help eliminate all the steering slop. A thin washer would be needed under the lock nut also for the o ring to seat against .

Learning suspension geometries helps alot when doing links and knowing what size goes where.. Google search basic 4 link and 3 link setups. The white Delrin 3link piece Medic uses is also known as a wishbone link. which is normally used in the rear. There's so much to be transferred knowledge wise from fullsize car mechanics to these rc's.

If you think about "competition", you should dramaticly change this links... First, move steering links back of the axle, over driveshaft. I know it's hard, but possible. Later u should change ackerman and caster in front. PM me if you want "magic setup" from my killer chassis. Last mod, but unable to do on your axle is make some negative camber for later-roll on side hills. When you say about torqe, you lose A LOT of that. Anti-squat on rear links should help forceing front axle down. . p.s. I know, that this cage looks awsome, but your COG is somewere in clouds. General look of this beast is awsome. Hope, it will beat some hardcore obstacles.

Hey Medic. Watching your RC videos got me back into the hobby. I just got a used SCX10 and I kinda have been following the altered best build. I love that Chevy pickup body. I have a truck kinda of like that minus the blower. I just have a question what is the length of your links that you used. Cause I am wanting to get the super clod buster body myself. Any information oh the wheel length and link length would be great. Thank you in advance

With your pinion pitched up the axle is clocked forward and your caster angle becomes negative almost taking some of the steering throw and effecting the wheel more like camber than toe. Drop the pinion angle/ lengthen the lowers by a little bit and you'll get better steering

You should open your own shop. Produce your own parts and have an indoor course of most types to deal with the cold months. If you get this many views you could really do well with nation wide sales. Nation wide sales are hard for a small hobby shop to create but you are ready. Take the next step,

you'd do your self a massive favour raising the rear shock mounts, would give you better ride hight, better anti-squat characteristics, better centre of gravity and sort any issues with drive line bind

hey mate loving the build so far its very hard to tell from the cam angle but is the rear shaft dropped below the link if crawling wont the drive shaft be bashing and all so catch and cause the car not to slide as i said hard to see on the cam

so I bought a integy lift kit for my honcho and I heard that the lift kit will make the driveshaft's bind like the problem you got so will shorter bottom links make that go away but do I have to switch the upper links or the front y link?

I couldn't tell in the video but it looked like you had a little bit of toe in going on when you steered being it looked like one wheel steered farther than the other. My solution would be to extend your front link a tad by removing the rod ends and re assemble them with a small spacer on each side making your toe a little better. But I can't really tell on camera. And I'm sure you know this trick anyway.

One wheel should be turning more than the other, and it always should be the inner wheel that turns less its called Ackermann steering, It allows both front wheels to follow the same curve without trying to understeer.

Okay, cool. How come you wanted so much toe in on an off-road truck with live axles? If it had independent front suspension then the toe-in would help raise it back to full height if the springs were softer (a compromise between articulation and ride height) but with solid axles you don't get that effect.
