RC ADVENTURES - HUGE MAXXiS TREPADORS! Installing DDM MEGA TORQUE Gears - Kraken Vekta 5

LOOK AT THE SiZE DiFFERENCE! Wow! Every time I filmed the Kraken Vekta 5 racing, and bashing - the common comment was always "The Tires Look TOO SMALL!". Well, not any more! These Maxxis Trepador Tires from Kraken are MONSTERS. But, by adding large tires, I have to install high torque gearing to get these tires moving. DDM (www.DavesMotors.com) has Mega Torque Gear Set 17/19-24 for Kraken Vekta.5 - KV103, available: bit.ly/2yFR0GY

This video I am on my own, and for the first time get into the gearing of this truck. What an adventure and this entire project took me a few hours). It also gave me the ability to understand how the gears work, and to learn about my machine!
During this process, I also discovered that my Servos were glitchy, so I too the opportunity to swap them both out. Now, my truck is solid.
I have done a lot of work to this Vekta 5, and upgraded quite a few pieces. Now, I'm confident that the truck is strong and ready to rip!
Assuming these tires are going to take more torque to turn, steering wise. It may be best for me to install a dual servo setup. This will ensure I can turn these tires with ease. Until then.. I will depend on my single servo, and save up.

I've learned in my pass A screw in ur fuel line will stretch it causing it come off My tip is small channel locks with shrink wrap on them to prevent cutting line Works awesome an has not failed me yet love the new tires can't wait to see run video Keep it up buddy

Hey Medic, I was fixing one of my rc's and realized that I have never changes the shock oil on it. It is a 1/10 scale monster truck and I drive it mainly on grass and dirt paths... What Weight shock oil would you suggest for me to use and is there a specific brand? BTW I watch your vids every day... Keep it up

RC Mentor of the North! I love my VEKTA.5. I bought the kit version just before xmas. I've had servo problems too. These things just seem to eat them. I've got HITEC D840WP's servos now. They have 50kg of torque with 2S. Holding up well. I bash mine pretty hard. That's what they are for. Always watch wide eyed at the RCSparks ranch! I gotta get some Trepadors now! PS. I missed Everett too!
