www.RCSparks.com - The RC4WD Trail Finder 2 has been a great Model for my build series. Paying homage to an EPiC vehicle & Show, Im doing my best to Mimic the UK's version of the Top Gear Hilux Truck.. and Wow.. Im simply STOKED! Im leaving everything on the chassis STOCK. I have only modified the Plastic Pieces of the BODY to make it look beaten up, aged, and making it look as though its been through HELL AND BACK! In this video I show how I detail some of my rust areas.. and continue to make the truck as realistic looking as possible.
This tutorial series is a longer format - showing where BUILDING AN RC can be full of creative style, imagination and best of all.. FUN!
The uber realistic construction and fabrication of parts, takes this type of RC to a whole new level. The TF2 is the successor to the highly sought after RC4WD "Trail Finder" original truck. In the TF2, the 2 Stage Selectable Transmission, Transfer Case, Leaf Spring suspension & a 1.55 Diameter Tire setup - is a real treat to see in person. Using 1080p HD, and a proper lighting setup.. I get the honour of showcasing these parts Up close, and in detail to ALL of the RC ADDiCTS that come to see RC ADVENTURES! Have fun my friends.. this is simply AMAZING!

Being a fan of the UK Top Gear, I knew immediately where this project was going. I must say that this is so far my favourite crawler that I have seen. The Hilux is a solid truck, and that episode of Top Gear was great. Nice work.

Sweet job on the truck, quick tip for anyone wanting to get a realistic rust effect on models get an iron nail and Mix 2 parts bleach to 1 part vinegar in a plastic mixing container. Mix enough to cover the nail. Drop nail in. Wait at least 30 minustes, then carefully remove the items from the solution and let dry. proceed to scrape the rust off and use pva glue to add it to your model/truck. realistic as it is real rust and works great.

Medic.. You have worked so hard on making the body look all rusted and beat up and it looks great but i think if the whole truck was rusted maybe such as the frame or the axles i just think that would make this scale build look even more amazing! Great job.

I absolutely love this project. Some people will probably make a stink about how your trashing this thing but I love that beaten down, trail ridden look. To take the time to make the rust and holes look authentic to me is just as cool as someone spending thousands making there's look all pimped out. Great job man. I'm defiantly gonna do one too.
