Great video. I have installed red motor on my leopard 2a6. I have tested them in 45 degrees slope. However due to leopards weight and probably the track's grip, climbing the slope is harder, often fail because the motor can't provide enough speed and Torque.

Very informative video, thank you for sharing. I'm just getting into RC tanks myself. I cannot seem to find a definitive answer on whether you can use a regular Lipo battery with an RC tank's electronics? Have you had any issues with running a Lipo battery in your tank? Can the electronics handle it? And how are those red motors holding up? Would you still recommend them as an upgrade? I am thinking of buying a 1/16 7.0 Henglong Tiger I RTR RC Tank 3818 W/ Barrel Recoil Metal Wheel.

Hi lipo should be fine but you have to use one of the plug in lipo low voltage buzzer alarms so you don't over drain the lipo battery. The motors made it turn better I think your Tiger will be fine with the stock motors this tank is much larger needed more punch for turning it.Thanks for watching.

You wouldn't be willing to share (or show) what has to be removed to actually install these motors would you? I got the Henglong Abrams, and I have the motors, but am unsure what's next. Does the smoke unit have to be removed? Does the gearbox have to come out? Love the vid, and its appreciated, but you skipped over the important details....Thanx again !

Hi you need to take off the gearbox drive sprockets that drive the tracks, and take out each gearbox by unscrewing the screws in the bottom of them that hold them to the chassis to get the motors out and put in the new ones , you may need to take out the smoker if it's in the way also. Hi I am sorry I don't have this anymore, you just have to wing it, usually some screws on the bottom hull of the tank and the whole tank top lid comes off. Hope this helps.

I bought the red motors with the 5.3 plug. My tank is leopard A26 tank 6.0 will these red motors fit. Can I just hookup the wire in the tank to the motor.

Hi the motors should fit just make sure your plugs on the motor are the same.

Hi no just make sure the polarity is correct for the way the motor rotates so it makes each gearbox go forward when you go forward.

Can I just hookup the wires from the tank to the new red motors just like the motors that's already in the tank. The red motor has red wire going to the plus. The old motor has the black wire going to the plus.

@@johnnyb2702 Hi you can hook them up that way the motors are 0 timed so they are the same RPM in both directions ...just hook the wires up so when you go forward with the radio each gearbox moves the tracks in the correct direction to move forward.

I have 4 different heng long tanks, gear box and motors stock, did upgrade tracks to metal. On concrete or tarmac, they run fine, but on grass its struggles The stock motors do not have enough torque How do I increase torque, but not necessarily increase speed

Hi yes i believe so, They wont fit the Sherman because it's not wide enough in the chassis tub. the bull dog is a fast tank already so it should FLY with these motors!

Hi yes they are meant to run with the stock boards and the seller I asked the same ? and he said yes they run them in the stock HL tanks all the time.

Hello I have just bought 2 upgrade motors to My challenger 2 i have Steel gearbox, But when i try to drive they stop and sudently there is No power on the battery Anymore. Do you know what the problem can be.

😊Hi your battery may be bad try another one or make sure it's fully charged.. Next you may be over loading the stock electronics with the hop up motors causing shut down ...do you have all metal tracks this puts much more stress on the drive train.

Hi i don't know are your motors these same red ones? also it's most likely the metal tracks making it over stressed with plastic tracks it would put much less stress on the motors and electronics.

If you put the motors in some water deep enough to cover the whole motor. You will get a better breakin. Brushed motors are water proof all by them selves with no extr work needed.

Hi you can't use brushless motors you would need a new radio and esc's and you wont have any sound also if you did do this.

From what I understand brushless isn't good for things like tanks/rockcrawlers, etc.. due to cogging at slow speeds.

It's a rc tank for god's sake not rc race car. A real upgrade would be a 4-1 ratio torque steel/being gearbox. 380s or 390s motors are fine. Slow portional movement is what you want, not race track rpms. But that's only my opinion for a 1/16 scale tank.

You better replace that crappy plastic gearbox. Those motors will eventually rip up those gears. Better to go with a real gear box made of steel. No, not Zinc.. Real metal.

Yep. I would. The 390's are great motors. But they do have a tendency to rip up plastic gears due to the higher RPM and Torque. I had to go with solid steel gears to avoid that issue myself. After that, no more problems with it.

Stop calling the lipo's lipo-o's. They are li-po's. Also if you want a fast tank why not just throw in 2 of the 380 brushless systems, everyone knows tanks are suppose to be fast like a drag car lol.
