I just added the pro scale light kit and lights to my TRX4 79’ Branco and love it. It looks so cool and realistic especially when you run at night. I totally agree that you should be able to turn the hazard lights on and off through the app. Hopefully one of these days they’ll update it in the app.

A great video Greg! I really want to fit this set-up to the two Defenders my wife and I run. But, I'm a bit disappointed that Traxxas don't seem to sell (yet?!) the front and tail lights alone, as they did with the old sets. We haven't got rock lights and don't really want them, and I don't want a light bar, but will have to buy the whole kit. And we run the Traxxas BEC, so would need to check the wiring with that. Other than that, it looks good - I just need to be sure we have the TQi sets!

Traxxas has done well with their new releases. The lights are a really nice kit that other manufacturers cannot compete with yet. The trx4 has some really great accessories overall for the scale side. And the kits and the drag car and the new summit and I could go on. I'm not a huge traxxas fan either but I'm really coming around to them for some of the things they do so well

I intend to install the kit, but the installation kit for the Bronco body is on indefinite backorder at Traxxis. A thought I had, Traxxis could add a trailer light connector and a separate trailer light kit.

This kit seems great! The pros would being like what you mentioned about being able to turn them all off during the day. Unless of course, any lighting kit is controlled via the module that goes in the radio and the differences are turn signal and reverse lights? I'm hazy on that🤔

Hi Greg, Great video, really helpful as are all you vids. Question for you. I installed this pro scale in my TRX4 Traxxs unit and got the same "No high voltage power adapter detected" as you did. Lights all see to work just can't control them via the app. Spoke with Traxxas and they had me delete and reinstall the truck from within the app. Still no love... Wondering what you did to get over this error code. Thanks

They can be added to the controller separately. Slots 1 thru 8 on the power block are 'programmable' on the Traxxas Link App and correspond to the slot numbers on the body-mounted distribution block. I've got my rock lights on slot 3 on the power block. My Lightbar is connected to the distro block. The front bumper light bar (when I get it) will be connected to distro block 7 (I think it will be). Slots 9 and 10 are left turn signals, and 11 and 12 are right turn signals (may be backwards, but you get the point). Once I get wire leads and connectors, I intend on building a wiring kit for my trailer. The lights quit working on it just as I got the new light system for my Bronco. If I can wire it up correctly, I'll have tail and indicator lamps on the trailer that will work directly off the truck's system. I just won't have brake lights or reverse lights, purely because the trailer lights are single-stage only LEDs. I can have either brake and signal or tail and signal. Tail and Signal are more important I think. I could probably cannibalize an old set of Traxxas LEDs for brake lights if I felt like it.

i have installed the full light kit from the original light kit Rigid version also but the first one as who wants there turn signal on when crawling , anyone see cops in the trails lol also its got too many bugs thats the second light kit you have reviewed here the OG one is more than good and as for the reverse lights who needs them he he where i go theres no reverse only feature i like with the Bluetooth module is the ones that are free and dont require you to purchase additional items like the vertical and horizontal meter thats great especially when you can set the alarm for letting you know your about to tip over your rig otherwise i dont like the fact that you need to buy additional sensors like speed,temp etc overall traxxas is great but could do with some customer relation perks instead of charging heaps for them later

So Greg, this light kit will work with an aftermarket brushed ESC such as the HW1080? What if you are running a brushless system?

I haven’t tried it with an aftermarket system yet. My initial guesses is that you could use it with an aftermarket brushed system and you’d have to solder in the motor pigtail if you don’t run bullets. And with BL, I’m guessing most of the system could work, but not the brake and reverse lights. Not sure how you’d wire the motor pigtail. Again this is a guess. I’ll try and have better answers when I do the Sport video.

Installed my Pro scale lighting and the wireless module. After updating for the 1st time via the link app, it told me to power off and then back on. The tsm is now flashing red and esc is red. Any ideas on this fix? Thanks

@@kubson7689 on the power module, which is mounted on the cars chassis and where the "maxx in" socket is, there are two buttons - "mode" and "signal". Press the "signal" button quickly two times and the confirmation blinking will happen. Then when the car is stand still and you turn the steering right or left, the relevant blinker should start working. Really hope this will help you! In my case this is installed on a Defender.

That's an interesting question, any brushed system should work but brushless may require an aftermarket module to give the forward/ reverse signal. That's why other multi light systems have reverse come on while braking as they use the receiver signal not motor and receiver to distinguish between the backward trigger signal. Do they have a kit with brake/ reverse for any of their brushless cars....like the Hoss etc. Cheers 👍

If you have the 8030 Defender kit, it says it’s not compatible on the Traxxas website. You have to get the 8095 kit that I show in this video. If you have a different model, check the compatibility chart on the Traxxas website.

Then buying the new module and accessories may give some of the full kits functionality as I don't think all the leds are in the "buckets".. So, I'm using this kit on the Bronco. I've got the *hazard* lights working just fine. I can't get the install kit, out of stock, so I made jumpers out of a retired servo and the old distribution block for the legacy lighting system. This made the rear indicator lamps work for the flashers, but I STILL can't get the turn signals working -- at either end. I've turned them on/off with the signal button per instructions but nada. No turn signals at all. (except to say theyre on or off when enabling/disabling them on the power block)The Defender, I believe, uses standalone rear indicators, so you're using a different jumper set than the Bronco will use. I'm trying to figure out what it is I'm doing wrong that makes them not work. The only thing I can think of right at the moment is the servo I'm using is not factory, and i've had to adjust the servo throw with the app, so I'm thinking perhaps the system doesn't think I'm using full steering lock even though I am. If anyone had this issue and fixed it, I'm all for hearing what you did to fix it, or just ideas to start trying. The kit is brilliant otherwise. The only complaint I have is there's no manual signal or hazard control at the app level.

@@Erfanbmw I already posted an update about this; The Receiver and transmitter both need firmware updates. If you have the Traxxas Link module in your transmitter, start the Traxxas Link app on your phone. If you don't have this hardware upgrade, you'd be better off talking to Traxxa Support about how to update the firmware.

If you have the max link cable between the tqi receiver and the distribution block it works great. I use the HW Axe 3300kv motor and my brakes and reverse still work.

I’ve had the light kit for a week or so. My driver side reverse light doesn’t function. And the brake lights don’t really function very well. Controlling the lights with my phone is my favorite part though

Mine just hangs there. I think it's to link up another light bar if you wanted to add one to the front bumper or something. There's only one port for one light bar in the module.

That's normal it's the drag brake with locked diffs

Greg said toward the end he had a couple of glitches, Just take a deep breath, re read the instructions as things can be turned on an off and programmed. As a mechanic of 30 plus years I can say that companies rarely send out a faulty part, especially companies like Traxxas. Its usually something simple and overlooked. Good luck and contact Traxxas because they will want to make you happy. Cheers mate👍

So I just put together the same kit with the 8095 and the first issues I noticed off the bat were the tail lights for the reverse only worked on one side and the parking lights would be red on one side and white on the other when testing through the app on the phone for the reverse light test and parking light test. I'm trying to figure out if its just a bum led module, a 'gotcha' through the app or some wiring I might've reversed or mixed up. I assume on the wiring you just straight wired every letter to its matching letter on the body module? Otherwise I love your video Greg, keep em coming!!

Not wanting to be that negative guy, but seems a bit overdone for a crawler. Personally, I feel no need for working turn signals. The highbeam/low beam setting is awesome tho. Auxilairy lights, brake lights and reverse lights can be done quite easy IF you have some knowledge about electronics. Also, a app seems a bit too much work, I prefer simple buttons on the transmitter, or a small seperate keychain style remote. Kinda like old style radio's versus touchscreens in real cars, having to look at stuff and going through menu's instead of simply reaching for a knob. Now what I do like? It's pretty much plug and play, easy to install ( I hate soldering the electronics on my trucks). And scale points for simply having all the lights working.

What a pity Traxxas made the lights with the front indicator (turn signal) and sidelights in the wrong places. Real Defenders (at least in the UK and it is a British car wearing UK-style plates) have the sidelights above the indicators, not the other way around as shown in the Traxxas lights. I'm fortunate enough to have the full-size version as my daily driver, and a TRX-4 that I'm not putting lights in until either Traxxas change that detail or I make my own, like I did when illuminating my RC4WD D90 a few years back.

you can just switch the 2 light ports, Greg could have plugged them in the wrong ones or Traxxas ma have labeled it that way, but an easy fix to that.

Good video, but lost me after the 7min mark when you start plugging in wires. I feel like you missed something or didn’t show something. I have a tone of left over wires not used or plugged in.

Sent here from your other video. However. You tell us to rely on the instructions. They don't explain what to do with the extra wire to the roof lightbar on trx4 sport traxx. I assume it's obsolete now because it's just the high beam signal. Owell. Maybe it's time I make an install video to answer alot of other questions in your comment section. You also said you were gonna answer the brushless question in the other video. You did not.
