I am with you, those Element shocks are some of the smoothest I have built and go together really easy. Their stock springs work very well too but offer a few additional spring rates to accommodate heavier or lighter trucks than stock. I mostly have stock shocks on most of my rigs but if I were buying replacements I would go ahead and pick up the Element ones!
@Stickies722 жыл бұрын
Thank you Addam Brother!!! I love the Element shocks, I even bought a set of the Factory team for my Rover build. Having gone through a few sets of springs before i got the right ones was important, that trucks works so good for how heavy it is.

Considering this looks like a between 1/10 and 1/24th scale possibly a 1/18th scale I would look at the shocks from Traxxas for their TRX-18. They have a nice set that would likely fit and will give you a nice oil filled shock which you would be able to use different oils to get the setup just right. thank you very much for watching and leaving a comment!

Great info, I have element shock on my ecto but they leak a fair bit. They have the plastic caps on them. I bought the rebuild kit but hesitate on the aluminum cap because of the price. Do you think the caps would stop the leaking
@Stickies72 Жыл бұрын
If the cap is leaking then yes the aluminum should put a stop to that as the o-ring in the cap will have a better sealing surface. If it is leaking from the bottom seals then try and use a healthy amount of green slime when rebuidling the shocks. I am a big believer in the green slime from associated, throughout many years of racing it has been part of my shock building and re-building process. Whatever it is they use to make it really works. I have tried a few different things but the slime seems to have something in it that keeps the o-rings from wearing out so quickly and it helps to keep the seal nice.

Thank you for the info. Looking fir a good set of shocks for my custom scx10ii build
@Stickies722 жыл бұрын
I would reccommend either going with a set of Element or Desert Lizard if you not going super scale. For super scale I would check out check out the SSD or Proline pro scale shocks. I have had good luck with all of these.

Your review of the King shocks was spot on I have a set & I’m not impressed & the shaft seems very thin to begin with. No less but there on a RC that I don’t take out very often. Stoped by to check your reviews I’m getting new shocks for the ew Vanquish RTR.
@Stickies72 Жыл бұрын
I have a vanquish Phoenix kit I built several .oaths back and I am pretty impressed with the incision shocks, I also really like the ssd for vanquish. Vanquish has a skinny shock mount so a big bore like Traxxas or Element won't fit. I love my element shocks more than any others I tried.

same here. king bad ones i have in my life, scx10ii plastic ones works better for me (less leak)
@Stickies72 Жыл бұрын
@@STRYKER_PT There are good ones out there, the Element and Traxxas shocks are good at a decent price and leaking is much less of an issue with both of them. These king shocks are just not good at anything other than looking the part. Thank you Luis!!

I’m not positive at all, but the SSD shocks are those pretty much the same as pro line. I have a set of pro lines that I just use for my vehicle that has leaf springs. I just really like the distance in travel I don’t use the springs them self, but there’s no leaks. I would like to try them out on the CX2

No, you will want to go with something that is more like a racing shock. I would look at shocks for 1/8 race buggies, like an associated, tlr, or xray. They will give e you the best performance and help to make the voltage more drivable Thank you very much!

From what people have told me they work very good, I have ordered a set of them for my Phoenix build and a set of Kronix as well. Just waiting for them to ship out. Thank you very much AmericanUhate, great name btw!
@TheAmericanUhate2 жыл бұрын
@@Stickies72 A phoenix build is what I'm looking for shocks for too. Haven't even ran it yet and one shock is leaking already lol. Right now it's between trx4 shocks or proline shocks. Definitely want 90mm to 100mm. The stock shocks on my trx4 has been perfect for over a year. Only time I had one leak was from a nasty roll in moab which bent a shaft and broke a rod end lol. New shaft & oil, still doesn't leak. I really hate leaky shocks lol
@Stickies722 жыл бұрын
@@TheAmericanUhate TRX4 shocks and Element RC shocks are my two favorite shocks. I have sets of both on a couple rigs and they have both been almost perfect. I run the TRX shocks on my LCG rig right now and they have been perfect, not even touched them once in 3-4 months now. I think I would rank TRX and Element my top 2 for sure.

@Stickies722 жыл бұрын
I really like the Desert Lizards as well, I did not have the truck with mine on it to show so I made them an honorable mention at the very end. The only knock i have on the lizards is I did have to drill a few extra holes in the pistons as they were really dampened, even at 20 wt oil they were super tight. After adding a few holes though they work amazing, and I have run them solid for a year without having to rebuild them. Thank you 3d RC!!!
