Anyone selling/know where to get a relatively "cheap" (by this I mean not of £200-£250) Landrover Defender RC car? I would build one but I have little to no knowledge of this kind of stuff.

haha yes you do. I do not think you will find it for a price like that. the rc cars you see here easy cost double from the 200 to 250 pounds and even that is not a price you are willing to pay. what you could do is just buy the d90 body and put it on a cheap rc car you have lying around. But i can tell you on forehand it will not look and drive like you see here. These cars are high quality. Most of the time with a lot of metal parts in the drive line. The waterproof part is easily done yourself by dipping all the electronics in plastidip or something or buying waterproof esc's and servo's. The parts in this hobby became much cheaper over the years but special stuff and high quality stuff will still cost you a good amount of money. and maybe you will be lucky some day to find someone that will sell one to you for very little but i would not count on it.

dextersxxxxlab thank you. Yes I may just wait a little longer until I have more money. I already have the carsima vw Touareg but it is very problematic because it was 'cheap'. So what would be the best way to water proof this particular car?

for me plastidip works fine. it is like liquid rubber in a tin pot like paint is in a tin or metal bucket. just take your electronics out and use som tape to wrap on the connection pins that are on a circuitboard you are dipping. if there are only soldered connections it is even more easy. just hold all wires together up and dip thecircuitboard in the plastidip container. take it out and hang it on a little hiik above an old newspaper to dry. repeat this 2 times so in total it was dipped 3 times and your electronics turned totally black( in case of black plastidip). put it back in the car and take the next piece. servo's you need to open first. take out the 4 screws on the bottom. now take out the gears. add firm waterproof grease in the top of the housing where the turning shaft will go out. add some more on the gear that is attached to this shaft and put it back together. put the screws back in and remove all grease stains you might make on the outside with some degreaser. now wrap some thin tape around the servo joints and than dip the servo just hold the wire up and lower it standind up straight so the outgoing shaft is up put it as deep so it almost will go under but keep the top clean so the shaft gets no coating. only the wire entry. and the joints must get covered. also dip 3 times with drying it in between. done. the wire connections just get some silicone spray now and then. when just running in sweet water it is no big deal. just make sure it can dry after you are done driving. the motor is no problem. it can handle freash water. only watch out with a lot of mud in it. this will break it. just add some grease now than on the shaft and bearing. the disadvantage is that the grease will hold abrasive sand but it keeps the bearing from corroding. if you are planning to really go into deep mud close of the motor with a rubber motor cover or something. the battery is stock in my case. never waterproof it. depending om the typ it may allready be closed off. if you yous a hard case battery it is easy to seal it completely. i never drive the car totally submerged so the battery will not go under. and some splashed do not matter to me. so good luck
