I love the hat camera. I have a longshot also, but I also have 2 relatively cheap 1m. a Hawk and a Kennedy ELF. For new dlg fliers on the beach or such as this I cannot say enough about the ELF. I love it for its simplicity. Thanks, Your videos helped inspire me about gliding for a long time.

So elegant on such little lift! 🤩

If anyone ever says RC flying is boring, I will send them to this video. It is proof of good clean fun, with challenge and getting out into a refreshing environment.

What the freak there was like NO hill to generate lift! That's some pretty awesome slope flying right there.

Tks for posting another great video ! The covid 19 has us all but behind bars.

This is the first time I've seen dynamic soaring in the conventional sense (i.e. not in the rotor behind the lee of the hill). Excellent.

Thats what DS is..... This is just normal slope soaring.

Very nice flights in front of the sea! Could you explain how to do that rotation (1:36) with a four channel DLG (control)?
@SpeedsterDEN4 жыл бұрын
Dive a bit to get some speed, pull up to 20 degree climb, neutral elevator, then full aileron and after 135 degree roll give down elevator and ease off down elevator when passed 215 degree roll and just let it make the full rotation 👍😃

What is the wing loading on this DLG? (amazing, it's not even a "slope")
@civilsocietyprivateinteres17114 жыл бұрын
Wow this is so rad, are you flying with ailerons? I slope an old Zagi wing but just ordered a Pug mini dlg kit to try and slope some small dunes by my house. In winds like this do you add ballast or/and just trim a bit down down elevator? Cheers
@SpeedsterDEN4 жыл бұрын
On this dlg there is aileron and no rudder, in wind like this I fly in normal dlg trim but with more wind you can try with down trim, and more wind add ballast, maybe up to 150 gram then it can fly in 25 nots wind on the slope

I'm looking to replace my Alula soon, what would be a suitable next step up?
@SpeedsterDEN4 жыл бұрын
The Long shot lll as I fly will do great for you it is not in the expensive class, but don't buy the really cheap stuff. I still have 2 x Alula and yesterday and when I recorded this video one was in the car :) It is much easier to get thermals with a real DLG, You can easy throw it to + 30 meter and fly much higher in the thermals and will fly in some wind. After the beach flying I had some great thermal flying at the rc club with 2 flights over 20 minute and many over 10 min, and I made some really great videos how to catch thermals, but when I came home I discovered that the camera was set to selfie mode, so it recorded the wrong direction :)

@@SpeedsterDEN Dang! A how-to-catch-thermals video would have been awesome.

@@SpeedsterDEN Thanks for that. I was considering the Aulala's DLG brother, the Libelle, I'll take a look at the LongShot
