WOW....You have my Very first Hobby grade rc the Midnight Pumpkin...I bought that brand new when it came out and did it the same color...Black with the stickers and I only had the stock yellow wheels...Unfortunately I don't have it anymore and when I saw yours it made me smile...I loved mine..I want to get another one but now they are very pricey for my buget so I'm on the hunt for one that's in not so good condition that maybe I can afford and just restore it at my leisure...but at least I'd have one back in my collection...Great video...I really enjoyed viewing your awesome collection...

Unreal....just unreal! How do I pick a favourite! Almost impossible! If I was pushed i would say the Tamiya Dirt Thrasher just because I love the Manta Ray and the DF-01 chassis and the Dirt Thrasher is just different and cool probably even cooler than the Manta Ray! Such an awesome collection.... the oldest RC that I have is a Stampede that was from the Era when you could choose to get a manual speed control or XL1 electronic speed control... I've been racing RCs lately with my son, and now my daughter, going on 6 years of racing now. For about the last 15 Ive been playing with them just for fun, building and driving rock crawlers...raced a few times in the early 2000's, and had an airplane in the mid-late 90s that I built and flew with my stepdad...I've been into and flying airplanes since then. I've only recently gotten bitten by the retro/vintage RC bug... I have a ReRe Ultima that I've had a blast racing some this summer, and a Turbo Optima gold kit to build... hope to get a few more of the Kyosho cars, and we are starting our Tamiya collection as soon as FedEx/UPS shows up with pur most recent order. Bought my daughter a Tamiya kit for her 9tj birthday which is Tomorrow... and had to order some other Tamiya goodness as well... You have a handful of cars I had never heard of, basically any of them that weren't the RC10, Kyosho, or Tamiya cars, I hadn't heard of... I never knew Nikko made hobby grade RCs for example. I am looking to get a Tamiya for some light racing, maybe a DT03 to start with as I look further into it. You showed a couple that peaked my interest though.... one you called a 201, and one was ALL WHITE... I would love a bit more info on those kits/cars so I can look them up. Also, do you have any input on some.kind of Tamiya that would make a good runner, to be raced relatively carefully, but something that isn't super rare so that parts could be found relatively easy, or a car that would handle well and also be able to survive some spirited use? For now I am thinking a DT03 Neo Fighter is my best starting place, but I think there has to be a better Tamiya buggy chassis than that one. watching it for a second time, that is so impressive! Porsche 959 / rc10 gold pan are my unicorn. Special mention for your egress / marui shogun as well. Plus the panda for the originality of it. I have repurchase a schumacher topcat, my favorite runner. Spent also a lot of time running a grasshopper vintage and bigwig that were my funny ones, very special to me (childhood memories for grasshopper and dream car for the bigwig when I was a kid). I cannot wait for the boxes part II! you just make an outstanding pair together with Glenn. Way to go!!! keep on the good work, that’s a pleasure to watch after a good working day.

@@rcicons4915 For what it's worth I didn't find anything at all boastful about the video, and it's a great way to introduce the hobby to a new generation. I wasn't allowed a Tamiya when I was a kid as they were quite expensive but I used to work across from Wonderland Models on Lothian Road in Edinburgh and would spend hours staring at their window displays, my uncle who was living in Germany at the time sent me and my brother a Mark 1 VW Golf (rtr) by Corgi which were better known for making die-cast models, the car was awful but I really wish we'd kept it now as i'm pretty sure not many folk bought them so might have been worth something to a collector, isn't hindsight a wonderful thing...

Hi there WoW you have the best collection of vintage 1/10 scale Rc’s that I’ve ever seen. My first hobby grade Rc was the Tamiya monster beetle its still one of my favourites today. Yes I had the optima mid custom back in 1990 it was classed as an entry level mid Because of the shocks and the brushed aluminium chassis I think the alloy chassis is nicer looking it was my first kyosho racing buggy i used to race it at my local club it was fun but i never won any races with it I actually won a trophy racing my monster beetle in the monster truck category that i entered in the 90s i am trying to find the trophy its at my mums house somewhere. Yes the f40 is based on optima mid custom chassis great kit.👍

G'day Keith i've watch your last video about 4 times now your collection is insane i've had dreams about such a collection for many years I've been in to R/C since 1985 and I have a few cars. And i've never seen anything like your awesome R/C collection. That’s an awesome collection. My fav was always the sand scorcher. I had 2 and glen got one of them. I had to sell all the Ric’s couple years ago due to job loss. I don’t miss most of them except the sand scorcher I had it was fun to build and run. 😊

Wow, I’m still trying to take it all in. Honestly feels like I just got out of class, so much information, very impressive , great video. The Bruiser totally took me back. It was my first, 1984 in Okinawa Japan. I was a 20 year old marine out in town and saw it in a store window. That was beginning of my RC habit, I’ve never gotten over it. Thanks for taking me back, well done again, looking forward to the next one. Guess I’ll be getting a bruiser now.

Yes not your typical starter kit, but exchange rate was good in 84’, single marine with no bills, didn’t even know what I was getting into. The only RC I didn’t hang onto.

The first hobby grade RC car I saw in action was a Bruiser. It was racing around on my grandparent's street and it rolled on its side right in front of me. I got to touch it because the driver asked me to flip it over and it was the beginning of my infatuation with RC cars. I have never owned a Bruiser but maybe one day...

Amazing collection. I was blown away when you showed that frog painted in yellow. That was the exact same as the one my dad and I built when I was a kid. He painted it yellow cause he was colour blind and found yellow was easiest for him to see. I rebuilt that transmission more times then I’d like to admit too. Thanks for the walk down memory lane.
