Wenn man die Motoren voll ausfahren würde dann fährt der Mäher um die 30km/h. Das macht natürlich keinerlei Sinn. Das ganze wird bei reinem ferngesteuerten Betrieb bleiben da hier zu viel Krempel an unterschiedlichen Positionen steht und sich das ganze auch hier und da festfahren kann. Problematisch ist auch das die Räder teilweise recht viel Schlupf haben weswegen eine genaue Positionsbestimmung schwierig ist. So ist mir das eigentlich Erleichterung genug da man nur daneben sitzen muss und Knöpfe drücken muss.

This is awesome. Building one myself using wheelchair motors I have lying around, but I seriously love the space and weight savings you got with the hub motors. What controller are you using, and is it still scrub steering or mixed channel for ease?

Im using a hoverboard PCB with a different firmware, to be preicse this one: github.com/EmanuelFeru/hoverboard-firmware-hack-FOC Emanuel has done some great work there, im using it in constand speed mode and control over PWM from a RC remote. Im not sure what you mean by scrub steering or mixed channel.

@@Alexander470815 Rc has no PWM signal, only PPM signal is output from the receiver

@ There are two standards, you can transmit multiple channels over one wire which is PPM. And there is the signal which only carries one channel, this are pulses with 1ms to 2ms. With a constant frequency of 50Hz it basically is PWM, but not with 0-100% but 5% to 10% duty cycle.

great project, i think the 10 inch hoverbord wcheel will do better job in high grass, and what type controller you use to power and voltege of the cutting motor?

The controller for the cutting motor is the original controller that was already in the mower. I just modified it so it would accept the higher nominal battery voltage of 48V instead of 36V.

Yes it is, I only modified the motor controller to accept 48V instead of 36V.

Of course. You can use any advanced motor controller as you like. VESC, Odrive for example.

@@Alexander470815 Oh okay. I've heard of ESCs (not VESC). And I heard about Odrive but it's like $400 haha. That's the cost of my whole build right now.

@@chriswf The usual RC ESCs won't perform very good in sensorless mode with these motors. You want sensored or a more advanced motor controller like a VESC. Cheapest option will likely be the hoverboard electronics.

what is the max voltage limit for that hoverboard controller ? i know it was run at 36v in stock but can i connect the 48v battery?

I would say 60V(when fully charged) is pushing it but for me it works fine. The 16S LiFe has 58,4V when fully charged.

Well you would need two four motor controllers it total, two hoverboard PCBs should do it.
