Congratulations for such dedication, the sound the engine produces is similar to a jet engine. Very good indeed and with good power. Greetings from Brazil, Leandro Wagner.

We're the steam comes out from the exhaust you can put a little tank to catch all the water and re use the water that would make it run for a long time
@MrKDB0016 жыл бұрын
Isaac Harry that is called a condenser. It is always the last stage of the turbine on a saltwater steamship and often on a freshwater steamship. In freshwater they have the option of doing without it and just getting more out of the river of course they have to clean the boiler out every time. the biggest advantage of having a condenser stage is that the water you collect is already hot, just below boiling. This is saves fuel.

It also inproves the power and efficiency of the Turbine by increasing the pressure and temperature drop

Thanks for the demonstration. A turbine is more efficient as a piston. To be perfect you should close the circuit, so you dont loose steam/water.

using a electronic valve and a centrifugal clutch might be a better drive option then your only using the steam when needed for the drive

I love the sound of a turbine spooling up, what is the power output and can it be adapted to a bicycle?
@prallplatte10 жыл бұрын
Mike Klegin less than 0,01 ps. no bike power....
@TheIndustrialphreak10 жыл бұрын
I wonder how big of a turbine I would need for usable bicycle power.
@prallplatte10 жыл бұрын
Mike Klegin the size of the turbine is less important. it depends on the pressure and volume that you can input.
@TheIndustrialphreak10 жыл бұрын
i kinda figured that, trying to figure out how to build a legal and safe boiler for a bicycle. I was thinking about repurposing one of those hotts power washers on a scaled up motorcycle frame awhile ago.
@ttamage8 жыл бұрын
Mike Klegin that would be awesome a steam turbine motorcycle.. it would probably be more efficient and faster with less weight than a car.

@TheDave57010 жыл бұрын
***** watch jay leno's garage. weight is no problem for steam !!!!
@battonfive10 жыл бұрын
TheDave570 true, for the extra weight compared to extra energy required to over come the additional friction that additional weight adds, its a more than reasonable trade :-) weight always adds to traction to offset its demand for more power :-D makes me wonder if a second story or side tanks for additional water capacity would justify the means :-) Spit balling here, I don't have a clue about steam...
@Fradias118 жыл бұрын
Can it accelerate and deccelerate or does it reach a certain rpm and then it's just clutch in or clutch out?
@prallplatte8 жыл бұрын
Its to weak to accelerate the car.
@zekayman10 жыл бұрын
You may get some descent RPMs but this thing probably has very negligible torque.
@macsogandares838310 жыл бұрын
Well, with this current setup, yes. He could gear it down to increase the torque, or build the turbine a little differently- kind of like increasing the throw on an engine.

this is the future... not steam stupid piston .. but steam turbine powered vehicles TRUCKS... bye bye diesel
@ashleymaroc490210 жыл бұрын
Yeh , Turbinia was the first steam turbine-powered steamship.And that was built in 1894. Today steam turbines ,with the exception of nuclear is a very inefficient technology because the vast majority of the energy in the steam is not powered down the shaft .But dumped in the condenser . A diesel engine in this regard is far more thermal efficient
@Friedrich-Wilhelm-198010 жыл бұрын
Ashley Maroc agreed turbines are wastfull
@maddox011010 жыл бұрын
Ashley Maroc Oh, that is why most fossile fueled powerplants are wasting the energy with steam turbine technology? And of course, most nuclear powerplants operate at a lower temperature and pressure than their fossile fueled counterparts. Just to play it more safe.
@ashleymaroc490210 жыл бұрын
Yeh they are most of the energy is dumped though the condenser
@Friedrich-Wilhelm-198010 жыл бұрын
