For someone who grew up in Canada with nary a desert in sight except for a frozen one way up north, I’l still love Prerunners and trophy trucks. Watching them hitting jumps and rough terrain at speed never gets old. So for me, to get to have some RC’s that hit the look of Prerunners and trophy trucks scratches an itch. I could watch the suspension soak up big bumps all day long. Given that both of these trucks are 2wd, momentum is key to keep them moving. Lots of wheel speed and big rooster tails all day long!
As always, thanks for watching. Stay tuned, join me on the next adventure!

I was impressed with your og beam build, I applaud anyone that tackles beams and swing set steering, just figuring out caster camber toe curve mitigation is crazy deep geometry. The proline beams are dam legit but it amazes me it uses stock 90mm crawler shocks almost making it not usable in my testing. Great job dude.

Thanks man! Yes the limiting thing about prolines kit is having to use crawler shocks. Not enough oil or travel for sure. I wish it had more droop travel

Those are 2 beautiful trucks. I haven't seen many run videos of the Rampage and it does not disappoint! Just a tip about brushless motors: if your motor is turning the wrong direction, don't use the reverse throttle button on your radio. Simply take any 2 of the 3 phase leads that go from your motor to the ESC and swap the wires. This changes the phase of the motor, and it will rotate in the correct direction!

Fun video. The I-beam looked to have limited travel. Did you use the IFS kit springs on the PL shocks? I ask because most IFS place the lower shock mount inboard (compared to a crawler), and they require a heavier spring to compensate. Or perhaps the seal drag from the extra shocks is preventing it from fully extending when unloaded.

@@guest6423 thanks for watching and commenting! The truck has a custom cage that the front shock towers are integrated into. I tried to make the shock hoops as close as possible to the scx10.2 shock towers in size and location but they could be limiting travel. I also tried to compensate with 100mm shocks in the front. For the most part, I think it does the job well enough. Cheers!

Great video, dude!! Both of them rigs look great. Your prerunner build looks fantastic and dialed with the Proline twin ibeam kit. I did really like the look of your first custom beams, did a good job. I'll confirm that building beams and swingset is not an easy thing to tackle ha. Your videos are inspiring dude keep up the wonderful content! 🏁🙏🏁✌️🏁

Hey this was a great video! I recently got the itch to get or build a pre runner/trophy truck rig. On a serious budget though and the Kyosho or the Proline kit on an SCX10 chassis are my top 2. This was a perfect vid for me to see. However I have one critique… I would have enjoyed getting your personal take on which you preferred for what style driving and why. Would love to have your feedback on the IFS vs IB… like how they stack up against each other. Both look great, perform great. Would like a bit more droop on the IB set up as already mentioned. Glad I found ya tho. Really enjoyed this one and gladly subbed! 👍😎

@@JFlyer1973 thanks for watching and commenting! I should and will do a follow up video on the two to give a more in depth opinion. Short version, the outlaw rampage does drive, jump, and perform better being a dedicated chassis. The I beam kit does look awesome though! To really get the I beam kit to perform well I built an open diff axle with Smt10 open diffs that are getting increasingly harder to find. Both are a lot of fun but for overall performance I think the Kyosho is better.

@@UnchartedRC very interesting to hear that. I know a lot of folks, myself included don’t like the non-scale MOA, but you can’t deny its heavier rear axle set up and the benefit it provides to the intended goal. I absolutely love watching the Kyosho in slow mo as it looks so scale. More travel in the IB and batter balance and the Proline SCX10 is right there. Which one you think you have more $ wrapped up into? If you do t mind me asking. I’m on a budget or I would probably get the Baja Rey 2.0. But money spent to tweak these 2 to where they need to be are you still spending over $500? Still thinking the Kyosho with a cost effective brushed set up will be the least expensive but getting some of the best results. Can’t wait for your next vid on these 2! 😎😎😎
