2023 Snowbirds Nationals A-Main 13.5 Sprint Class
The 13.5 Sprint cars on the carpet at Snowbirds were incredibly fast. The cars were flying by, I could barely follow them with the camera. The A-main was a great race mainly between Max Flurer and Steve Salvas.

Damn drove right threw him. At any tracks, and outside in northern California, which is definitely more than two or three, he would’ve been waiting or lost a lot for taking him out.

You don't realize how fast these cars are, running 3 second laps on a 200+ ft run line. Steve didn't do that on purpose. When you close in on a car that's slowing down because of mechanical failure it's impossible to react when a guy's car just doesn't go off the corner. It's just a racing thing. Could Steve have waited? Sure, but he would have went around him again in 2 laps because Max's car was already hurt.

I visit a carpet oval truck or indoor carpet facility cuz I race 1/10 scale carpet oval and road course here locally at the club at race at every weekend but when I was out of town working I visited this track and they had an outlaw sprint car class which is the exact same cars that you run at the snowbirds except there is no motor rule you can run any brushless system you wanted any foam or rubber tire you wanted and the suspension everything you can run anything you wanted as well any gearing and then your wing you can make it as big as you wanted but it had to stay within a spec though they made so you can have a little bit bigger wing than you can run at the snowbirds on the top and that makes a huge difference and they go about 2/10 faster than the fastest car at the snowbirds this year is how fast these cars that they race on average go it's crazy and they also have an outlaw late model class 2 at that track for it has no motor rule The body has to look like a outlaw asphalt late model where you can build it using a dirt oval late model body or you can build your own lexan outlaw late model body using templates and we have like three or four different body styles that they had made using AutoCAD that the drivers can just print them out and then trace them on the thin licks and sheets and make their bodies themselves but it was crazy how fast them cars went to they went a little bit faster than the sprint cars by a thousands of a second on average. But even the sprint cars here at the snowbirds in this video is insanely fast it's easier to keep up with when you're in person looking at them and driving than it is on the self on the cell phone makes it look like or a video Is it like it's harder to keep up with visually but in real life it's actually a little bit easier to keep up with and it's not as bad as you would think it is because you're on a driver stand away from the track and you're getting a little bit of a bird's eye view of the cars so it makes the viewing perspective a lot easier to drive than it would be if you're on the ground with no elevation and stuff like that

They look fast on camera that's for sure but a 13.5 is slow compared to our Sportsman sprint that's 1.5 and our outlaw class is open motor. Now them boys are fffffaaast. Makes this look like child's play. Watching Nathan Dean run is like it connected to rails like a roller-coaster lol

@PeterAlbury-b4l look up mojos hobbies in okc. It was 10.5 for sportsman but in the last 3 months they bumped it down to 13.5. People were not happy but at the time I posted this it was a 10.5 class but you sure can Google in on you tube and see it if you would like.
