This is a reply from the best sailor in our club: Sorry Fred - I am unable to respond to your /his request .A yachts stability comes from the fin length -and the weighton the bottom of the fin -The deeper the fin and the more weight - the greater the stability .Its a balance of stability versus speed-If you keep putting weight on to the fin the boat will eventually sink.If the weight is too light -the boat will turn over -and sink -So its a balance of minimum weight and speed and stability .Hope this explains what is going on -without going into too much detail.Des .

It was this big [-----Huge Trout ----] Very funny, must be a fisherman. You are a very competitive bunch of sailers. One of you chaps might be able to educate me. On full scale yachts the foresail is often furling and never has a boom running the base of the sail like on RC yachts and I wondered why this is? I see its free floating so is this simply to hold form? I see this on all rc yachts so maybe some things are not practical to scale? Great video and as one of you said, the yachts look very good on the screen. Thanks for taking the time.

How do you get the jib and mailsail to go to opposite sides when running downwind? It looks like the jib is boomed and the only control is a line running to the center of the deck, so you can control how much it is pulled in but not to which side it goes?
