Hi I love your channel. It helps us non technic savvy folk a chance to improve on legos models. I just had a question about this RC mod. At what step in the building process in the manual do you start the modification? I havent started building this set yet so I would like to know what step in the manual I can stop following it and start watching your tutorial. Thanks

well, it's hard to tell in which step you need to jump on to this RC mod because it starts from the finished model. you'd better follow the manual and skip the gearbox thing. and.. if you haven't built the original model yet, I suggest you build it first because it's been one of the best sets ever I've made at this price. (hats off to grohl666) thanks for loving my channel :)

Great MOC and instructions. I've ended with back and front wheels turning in opposite directions. So I'll have to turn arround one of the diferentials. I believe original instructions place both diferentials in the same position so something to be cautios about when building this moc.

@@BrickYourDream If you want an idea to make a video I could recommend that you make alternative Lego Sets models, for example an alternative Lamborghini Sian model with a manual to build it, it's just an idea.

At 6:50 change size 3 axle for size 4 and then at 7:30 put a size 7 beam at a right angle to stop the gears slipping away. But great video. Thank you.

칭찬 감사합니다! 지난 몇달 유튜브 쉬는 동안 샤시를 한번 재구성 해봤는데 변속기 작동할 모터까지 들어가니까 내부가 너무 복잡하고 지저분? 했어요.. RC개조 후 보통 개조방법까지 영상으로 공유하는게 제 목표인데, 이걸 튜토리얼로 만들 자신도 없어서 현재는 중단한 상태입니다. 시간 여유 있을때 최근 변속기 탑재된 신제품들을 천천히 살펴보면서 이걸 응용하는 방법으로 다시 시도해볼 생각입니다~!

Hi, I used the Lego IR receiver and battery box. When I pick the car up everything moves. But when I place it on the ground, the car doesn’t move. Is this because the battery box is not powerful enough to move the Land Rover?

In that case, check the differential. Front and rear should face the opposite direction.

이런거 뜯고나서 재조립할떄 특 재조립할떄 항상 작은 톱니바퀴 하나가 안보임, 심지어 그 톱니바퀴가 없으면 구동이 안됨

rc개조하려고 하는데 댓글들 읽어보니깐 디퍼렌셜 기어때문에 구동에 문제가 생긴다는 글이 종종 보이는데 영상에 나온것 같지 않아 여쭤봅니다 혹시 디퍼렌셜 기어를 따로 수정해야하거나 하는게 있으면 알려주시면 감사하겠습니다!

But when I pick it up, the engines start to run and everything is fine, I lower it and the engines stop working. Can you help me somehow on this topic?

well, maybe you should check the driveshaft, crankshaft and beige 20T gears with differentials.

You have to change the orientation of the rear and front differentials. After the centre diff is removed (the red one), those 2 diffs must be oriented in opposite direction

I'm sorry to say that there's no plan for pdf. It's not gonna be tricky or difficult cuz I made it step by step. The process might look confusing at first but if you have defender in your hand and follow the video, it will be easy. there's no changes in the front and the exterior. most of parts are reused just like the original version! hope you enjoy :)

카다 배터리박스 모터 이렇게해서 구동개조하면 속도어느정도인가요? 또 조립하면서 개조해도 상관없나요?

조립하면서 개조해도 상관 없습니다~! 카다 신형 모터랑 정품파펑 모터 직접적 비교는 안해봐서 구체적인 속도차이는 잘 모르겠습니다. 한번 테스트 해봐야겠네요^^

Hi guy, sorry for my bad english, but i don't speak korean at all. i write from Italy. Wanderful tutorial. I just did, but I have a problem: I had to turn the rear differential and in the meantime I removed the large rear gear that was no longer needed (to decrease unnecessary friction). Everything looks fine and the car moves, but REAR DIFFERENTIAL GEARS CRACK (due to torque?) When turning left or right. do you have any suggestions to fix this? thank you very much

In most cases, I hear crack sounds when the structures near gear parts are loose or torque is not enough. I suggest you check the structures holding gear pieces are assembled tightly

My mod is making cracking sound when driving with 2 motors. What could be the issue BrickYourDream?

It happens when gears are not fixed correctly between lift arms. It might need more supporting pieces between gears

궁금한게요 모터 달고요 컨트롤러로 움직였을때 뒷바퀴 오른쪽과 앞바퀴 왼쪽만 돌아가는데 아무리 설명서 봐도 모르겠는데 혹시 재대로 조립해도 그런건지? 아니면 모터 가동했을때 뒷바퀴 양쪽과 앞바퀴 양쪽이 4륜처럼 4바퀴가 다 같이 돌아야되는건지?? 알고싶어요 ㅠㅠ 어디에 물어볼때도 없고.. 도움주셨으면 합니다.

바닥에 놓지 않고 허공에 놓으면 디퍼렌셜(차동기어)로 인해 앞바퀴 한쪽+뒷바퀴 한쪽만 돌아갈 수 있어요! 바닥에 놓으면 모두 잘 굴러갑니다!

you can either gear down or make an end point limit the servo rotation angle. Actually I didn't gear down the servo because servo wouldn't get back to the original position automatically due to backlashes. By the way, are you using buwizz or lego receiver and battery box?

아래링크에서 standard parts구입하시면 되는데 네이버 브릭투게더 같은 부품판매처에서 구입하시면 됩니다.(레고는 개별부품 판매를 하지 않아요!) 모터는 레고파펑이 단종으로 가격이 너무 비싸므로 cada 또는 mouldking 브랜드것으로 구입하시면 3만원쯤에 모터와 배터리박스 모두 수급가능하십니다. 마찬가지로 네이버 검색해보시면 금방 찾으실수 있을거에요~. 저는 RC설명서는 별도 제작이나 판매하지 않고 있으므로 해당영상 보시면서 개조하시면 됩니다.

Did you use the lego smart hub for battery box and receiver? I used a regular separate battery box and separate receiver but the car have not enough power. Do you have a solution?

well... I guess the batteries are low. Buwizz is recommended, but it also worked well with powerfunction batterybox and receiver.

I haven't experienced such a thing... I think that might happen if the pinion(black 12T gear) is not perfectly middle of rack gear!

@@tommyweng6296 I guess you are using Lego controller because it can't control the power. in such case, there could be 2 solutions. one is gearing down the servo, and the other one is adding a stopper to limit the steering angle.If you do the first one, steering angle will be okay because of gear reduction. But steering might not perfectly get back to the original position due to backlashes. so I recommend the second solution, all you need is two technic pins and adding them on the H beam. If you send me an instagram direct msg, I can give you photo how to do this.
