Love those Legacy Hornets! Some of the older Hornets have had software updates that allow higher angle of attack. Yippeeee! 🤘😆🤘

Hello, love this video! How much drag resistance do you normally put on your panning when using a tripod? I find that when the drag is more stiff and you need to rotate the camera counter clockwise quickly (for fast passing jets), the fluid head loosens from the tripod base. Do you experience the same issue? How much drag do you normally use? Thanks

I'm not sure how to give a quantitative answer given that every make of tripod is different - the most precise answer I can give is "quite a lot". I filmed this on a Mandrotto 504 on max drag, which isn't quite as much as I would ideally like. On a Vinten Vision 10, I tend to use a setting of about 7/10, but other airshow colleagues will go all the way up to 9/10. I find that too tiring, personally. I have had the loosening head problem you describe, but only when I have been lazy and failed to tighten it properly.

@@ThisisFlight thanks for letting me know! I've got the Manfrotto 502 head on a Manfrotto tripod. Have you used this before with high/max drag? How does it compare to your 504?

I have not used a 502 I'm afraid.

I hope that flying control committee will allow crowd over flights for the hornet at RIAT in the same way they allow the Saudis, Koreans and the red arrows. It seems quite an integral part of what seems to be an already short display

What's your thoughts between the viper demo and the rcaf hornet demo Adam

Well, with the bloated HQ General Staff, and cuts to operational budgets, this was the one-and-only CF-18 the CAF could muster. Thanks, Trudy.
