One thing I need to know.... Regarding the common buck converter lm2596... I add amp control (max 2amp) same as atx smps.... Its working fine... Now, one problem exists... Supposed I input 15v from modified atx smps to lm2596 buck converter.... And set 14v at the output of this buck converter... Now I want to charge a 12v car battery which showing 12v....but the problem is... When I feed this 14v to charge a 12v battery for charging... Only 0.5amp charging is showing.. Even I set the maximum amp... It's not showing 2amps...its showing 0.5amps.....and as battery voltage increased it decreased it's amps... But If I set max 16v at buck converter output {input is now 19v} then I totally adjust 0 to 2amps... Can u tell me why...?? Bcoz it's mentioned that voltage difference needed is only 1.5v..and my battery is fully OK...not damaged.. So that only going little amps my battery voltage is reached to 14v...that's why not set 2amps...only 0.5amps is going..

You have a properly functioning buck converter. doing Maximum current of 2596 buck converter 3 amp Set the converter to 14 volts. When 12 volt battery is down the battery will come to 8 volts when maximum amps come. When a 12 volt battery is slightly charged the battery will come to 12.5 volts with a maximum of about 0.70 amps. And the battery will be 13.8 to 14 volts on full charge when the ampere becomes 0. Any charge is done by setting the battery charging voltage. If the battery reaches that set voltage then the current becomes zero. This is the process of the charger. If the battery charging is more than the full voltage then it is called overcharging and in this process the battery can also get damaged. thank you have a nice day
