Hi, been using my jmix8 for a couple of years and its been the tops. But im not entirely happy with the inbuilt Reverb/Delay on my Jmix8,and was wondering if using a vocal reverb/delay pedal instead would be better and would there be any issues using an external unit? I'm thinking of using a "TC Helicon Mic Mechanic " vocal processor stompbox.

thanks for the review. I've purchased a condenser mic and can't get the 48v to enable though it shows as selected and on within the app and front panel. just not lighting up and not powering up the mic. everything works on a traditional mixer no problem.

@stuartreecephotoandvideo Жыл бұрын
If it’s an active DI box it requires Phantom Power . Make sure thats turned on or your DI box is set to passive. I can’t recall exactly but I have a feeling channel 1-4 have phantom and the others don’t. Let us know if you solve the problem

Hi,great demo.. im currently looking at updating my P.A System ,and looking for something will have plenty of punch for a 4 piece RnR band consisting of vocals x 3 /Guitar possibly micing up the bass drum..normally with audiences from 50/200 people ,so was wondering if this system (Jmix8 +J8) would be man enough.
@stuartreeceband4 жыл бұрын
The system will definitely handle your band for most gigs. It can handle a venue of 200 pax if the audience is spread out and not all on the dance floor / right in front of the stage at the same time. I think 200 on the dance floor at once is going to be a stretch. I use it to DJ at weddings of 120-150 people and it handles fine and it can play very loud if it needs to. But theres usually 50-80 people on dance floor all night, the rest socialise around the venue and join in every now and then... hope that helps.

@@stuartreeceband Hi Thanks,yes it helped.weve used it and it's got plenty of power for an audience of 100/200..great clarity,also run the drums through it and it sounds very Fat.. :)

Is it possible to rename the presets? For example, if using the PA for 2 or more bands it would be useful to name the appropriate preset for the specific band setup - preset-01 could be Band name 1, whereas preset 2 could be Band name 2?

Hi great video thanks :) I'm experiencing one issue with the bluetooth. when I'm playing something from iTunes, youtube or wherever, and then speak or sing into the mic, it cuts the music off...is there a way to correct this? some people like karaoke as part of my entertainment package, and its a pain in the ass!! please help! :)
@stuartreeceband2 жыл бұрын
Check if you have a ‘ducker’ activated on channel 7/8 bluetooth channel. Open the channel 7/8 and click on preamp, If you do see a ducker then turn it off . Let me know of that works for you

Pity there doesn't seem to be a view that shows channels' vol and 3 band eq at a glance like a conventional hardware mixer. As a live performer using backtracks from various sources sometimes one needs to make quick adjustments on the fly without having to go to sub-pages to access individual channel eq parameters . Nice one, though Stuart. Hopefully I'll be getting a used pair soon(Somerset West , W-Cape area) and I'll be able to make use of them when this lockdown thing is over!

Its Possible to connect it to a DAW and have the separated tracks to record??
@stuartreeceband2 жыл бұрын
Not from what I know, I think the USB is only for firmware updates. When I updated the firmware (which is quite a mission on it’s own) I couldn’t see anyway you could use this as a DAW it seems to me that you can’t use the mixer at all when there is a cable plugged from system to your computer . You can use the AUX output to record but this will obviously be the whole mix , not the separate tracks.

@stuartreeceband4 жыл бұрын
It sounds to me like a firmware update issue. Even if the system is brand new, it could still be from the old stock that comes out with the first/original firmware. Google "how to update RCF JMix8 Firmware" It's pretty easy, but maybe I should do a short video on how to update it...

You should engage the High-Z (high impedance) when your source is a guitar….. Plus, the Compressor Presets do, in fact change the default level but each preset alters the Attack, Release, and Ratio. Different sources require these settings to be altered, which the Evox mixer incorporates in this feature. Also, you need to set the channel Gain prior to actually amplifying the source. You want to obtain an optimal gain setting to avoid noise (gain too low) or distortion (gain too high). This is referred to as Unity Gain. Not being critical of your novice status but you don’t have enough knowledge to completely take advantage of the features of this PA, or any other PA. There are plenty of YT videos you could watch to further your ability. Cheers
