During a gig my mic suddenly had no volume. I checked the app and saw the volume had gone to zero. I raised it back to the proper level, and it worked for a bit, but then went to zero again. The cause was my failure to manually turn the volume knobs for the master volume and the channel volume to 10. Not that the setting I was using was 10, but you must do this to be able to control the volume setting over the full range, or the system will eventually return to zero where it was left initially. My SOP now is to turn the amp, set the amp volume to somewhere between 5 and 8; manually turn the master volume and all channel volumes to 10 before any attachments, activate the app and reduce master volume to 3-4 and all channel volumes to zero. Next, attach mics, etc, and bring them up to unity. Hope this helps!

Thanks to your video I managed to handle all these different settings... I enjoyed both guitar and voice and made up 3 presets but when I shifted from one preset to another , sudden bang, it was all gone. Ever had such a bug ?

Ditto, bit heavy if you have to carry over a field during a outdoor gig, I invested in a mobile collapsible cart. very good speakers for mobile giggers.

Hi, been using my jmix8 for a couple of years and its been the tops. But im not entirely happy with the inbuilt Reverb/Delay on my Jmix8,and was wondering if using a vocal reverb/delay pedal instead would be better and would there be any issues using an external unit? I'm thinking of using a "TC Helicon Mic Mechanic " vocal processor stompbox.

I bought a dream 65 to put between it and my acoustic because without a preamp it has a heavy mid "canny" sound when plugged straight into Bose.

Hey man, what a great review and walk through! This Jmix8 is the system I plan on purchasing. I'm an acoustic performer. Would you still say it's a good purchase? And has their app improved at all?

It works if you use a six channel mixer i play sax flute guitar vocals & tracks been using the Bose S1 for years and just one I have three but for bigger bigger huge than used two is fine, but most of my gigs are just one and it’s very powerful. We have to adjust the high and goes on the speaker itself and the mixer through the channels on the mixer, works perfect, I’ve had no problems Good luck Chaz

Hi! Which of 6.5-inch battery-powered speakers can produce sounds in such an urban area near or at a great distance. Like, for example, Everse 8 in the street version? When a backing vocalist with a speaker is both nearby and from afar, his music and voice can be clearly heard at a distance of 200 meters and even further in the fifth minute of this video kzbin.info/www/bejne/r6Dck5eqfNeFo5Y What else could be similar to Everse 8? There is no need for the compact Jbl EON One. I have been using it for 3 years and have already sold it because it is twice as weak in volume as Everse 8. You can hear it clearly here in the short 1.5 minute story kzbin.info/www/bejne/hX6znIOJqbKapZY The speaker should be loud, compact and lightweight so that the musician can transport it on a special trolley (this is also seen in the video). Will the Bose S1 Pro be enough on such a city street kzbin.info/www/bejne/q3vIin2EnpWVmJo Where is another musician playing guitar and singing in Everse 8? Thank you in advance!

I’m with you on all of this. It does what it does brilliantly though. I have a pair and use them for either small family garden parties and camping or their primary use case is as foldback monitors with a pair of Bose L1 Pro 8s. When using them as foldbacks, I roll the bottom end off so as they don’t bottom out, and then they really project well, and the L1s really fill the low end in more than adequately (the L1 pro series doesn’t lack in low or top end at all, and I genuinely think they’re the best thing Bose have made to date in terms of sound quality). The great advantage of using the S1 pro as a foldback is the reduction in power cables all over the stage and the small footprint.

This guy is cool. Sounds excellent and not pretentious. With hair he's got the Bublee look and shaved the young DMB look. That RCF is a bit pricey for me and heavy. Plus they really don't carry that brand around here. Went from Yamaha stagepas 1k (sounds great. Still use for blues band main) to JBL EON ONE MK2 for acoustic gigs. Stagepas is over 50lbs. Was too much in 95 degree heat with stairs, dolly, etc. JBL is lighter. Has battery and on-board digital mixer. Real sub. They all sound similar, it's just a matter of what features one needs for one's own situation. How many trips from the car can I avoid??? That 87A mic sounds good for him. I tried it. Great at home, but live outdoors maybe I didn't know how to dial it in. It's hard to get it all right live when one a "solo" guy. No one to ask so you start to look for subtle clues from the audience. Not the drunk lady yelling for hotel california. The subtle foot tap under the table is the one I watch for. If a majority of folks are moving their feet under the table its sounding good and tips flow. No foot movement. I've screwed something up. I think guy would sound good through anything though.

I like this guy. Hés got the live acoustic thing nailed. Seems easy to the onlooker but very difficult to get live music to sound good. I'm in the game and understand. Most of us sound terrible live. Still not sure why. The other issue is the KZbin sound. Hard to tell for real. I tired that 87A mic. Not sure about it. Returned. Bought it again. Tried it. Returned again. I also use the AH ZED10FX. Really a good mixer for anything. I've played music with a lot of guys and some just sound good. Some don't. They can both be playing the same song the same way. As far as PA speakers. My rule is avoid all Bose stuff. Always use a full range system. Meaning sub and top. 37HZ to 20k. Folks will say one doesn't need a sub for acoustic gigs. It's true it can be done without but best to have a system with one, even if its an 8 inch sub. It's not about whether one has a drum or not. It's about the full range of sound the audience hears or doesn't. They don't know but they know. One can clearly hear the diff in this guys vids from sub system or just top alone sound. Not the same. Can never be the same. My rule is get the best equip but used, cheap, and beat up so folks don't thing one is rich. No labels on clothes or shoes. Leave the ipad at home. Write set list on the back of the guitar in sharpie of need. I also try not to play covers in any way verbatim but capture the spirit of the song at its core so they know it. Playing covers verbatim or perfect is a turn off for them. Never play originals for dollars. No one cares. Always tune down to E flat, so don't sound like a HS kid just learning. Standard tuning is not moody, mean, or mysterious. Play some kid tunes like Jack Johnson and get the money. Always respect the audience with an intro and outro but don't chit chat much. Humans have a tendency to brag about something and this also turns the audience off. I do it too and hate it later. No one cares whether one plays finger stile or strum. DMB, Mraz and others made a good living strumming. I used to watch buskers and bar acoustic guys from Key West to Savannah to wherever as a kid and saw what worked and what didn't. Its subtle. The location has something to do with it as well. Playing in a tourist area is critical. These neighborhood local gigs at Bad Daddys Burgers in Greenville, AL. are worthless. Look for hotel clusters with travelers going to dinner. Anywhere in Florida, New Orleans, Myrtle Beach, etc. Places like that. Wherever folks are on vacation is a jackpot. Stay south of I20. Back to some have it and some don't. I hung out with a famous guy for a few years and we jammed a little. Every note he played sounded so much better than the rest of us. He played a $100 used acoustic. We were all in rehab.

Ordered today. For my solo gigs with tracks. Today I tried with tracks and the tracks had nice base actually. My friend brought it over to try with tracks and I'm sold . You say not enough base I thought it was fine. It's light and I'm thankful not to lug around my 40lb powered monitor and put up on a pole. When I play with full band it's my monitor.

If it’s an active DI box it requires Phantom Power . Make sure thats turned on or your DI box is set to passive. I can’t recall exactly but I have a feeling channel 1-4 have phantom and the others don’t. Let us know if you solve the problem

Great stuff. Enjoyed what you had to say. Honest account, very authentic and thus very appealing. I've only just started. Got a S1 pro, not the pro plus. Now, I do have a number of condenser microphones. Can I use one of them with S1 pro? I'm just trying to avoid buying a dynamic mic. I am guessing you will advise use of phantom power supply along with it. No idea how to go about doing that.
