The Nx-45 & The Art 745 have the same driver. ND-940. (4" voice coil, 1.4" exit). And also the same 15". They also have the same amp. 700w rms. But the nx-45 is full covered with a grill. Thats why the high frequency sound a little bit different. They sound very close to each other. With the 15": The Nx-45 has only 2 port. But the Art 745 have 4 port. Thats why the Art 745 has a little bit more bass. But at the other hand. The Nx-45 has a better horn and it's a wooden enclosure. So in a large venue, the nx-45 will be a better choice without any doubt.

by logic, an aluminum horn would habdle better highs till 500 hz at 24 db slope, but not in this case! the 745 handles better and in higher volumes. sow, i think is the amplifier that are not the same, or the active crossover are not the same. i go for 745

745 sounds more digitally (plastic) enhanced and brighter. For me the winner is the NX45 with a more natural and solid warmth sounding.

Exactly. 745 sounds like you can’t push eq in highs. Nx45 sounds like you can actually mix on it

I own the 745”s over 7 years still going strong most of my gigs are small under 150 ppl so i dont even use subs also use pair of 710 mk4 for monitoring or feelers for seeting audience via separate outputs im still deciding to get subs bit not sure qsc ks118 jbl vrx918sp rcf 8003 rcf 8004

Nxall the way tighter Bass. The 745 sounds bigger cause of the ports. Nx is a serious winner but because i cannot afford it id take the 745 cause its pretty much the same but abs plastic,,, ill save some Cash and throw it at some Subs.

NX-45, because it comes with better DSP processing. In live gig it sounds much, much better than 745. Better processed speaker.

I can only think 815p that is the only speaker I have that I think might compare. The 815 does sound muted and not as clean and bright as the 745. The 815 has a heavier LF performance though

I would rather use two 745's than an ev or evolve. Stereo sound, better sound and enough low end. Many may disagree but I have both and I know which I prefer!

I echo what you're saying and still do to this day. My 745's are well run in, while the NX's are getting dusty Sound guys want that more neutral cabinet

A pair of 745s on sticks would be better suited for a DJ. The Nx45 would do better as a stage monitor or Live FOH

Now I tried it again with good earphones and yes I could hear a little bit. The sound of both of them shows too many lows and distortion, I missed the mids completely. Shitty sound by RCF. Horrible.
