Thank you again! These BECs are also new tech to me, after 20 years out of the Hobby.... We probably had that problem since 1985 - just didn't know it!!! 😁

Nice love it. I just recently revived a rc10gt nitro. Converted to electric and running a sidewinder 3 with a 5700kv lots of fun. Team associated is so awesome. Brings me home to being a kid again in 80’s and 90’s, when you used to see people bashing old gold pans in dirt lots!!!

Hi RC Girl. In the video you hooked up the BEC to the receiver bypassing the power from the ESC. In this way, the BEC can power everything that is connected to the receiver (except ESC which draws power from the battery) servo, lights, winch. Do you think it is possible to connect BEC directly to the servo with additional signal cable from the receiver? And of course the power wires from the ESC to the receiver would have to be connected.

I love those older RC cars from the late 80s early 90s. I always have an eye out for those. I actually found a new in box grass hopper and a really old Lobo 2 from an old toy store that closed down. I never take them out though to afraid to get them scratched up.

Great video , I actually normally get vital tech' knowledge from your video's. and I was wondering to install a BEC because my rally car with a HPI EHM 3S ESC has a problem and it starts as normal but with stressed runs it will suddenly stop and if switched off and on it runs again. surprisingly the motor and ESC are running cool with added fan. other connections on the receiver are Engine sound simulator essone, Tamiya lights module and a savor. I hope a UBEC could solve this.

Yeah it could help. Sounds like you're running a lot of stuff off of it and it might not be able to handle the amp draw. Keep me posted on how it goes!

Sure I run a lot of stuff off the ESC and I will keep you updated when it arrives in two to three weeks.

I actually try and do it on a budget! Most of the parts are off brand (but probably made in the same factory as the name brand stuff) :)

I still don't really understand what the purpose of this is and why you would need to install a BEC in a RC car. This is the first time i have ever heard of anyone mentioning or even using this. Why not just update the ESC or get a better one. You can get a solid ESC for under a 100 nowadays.
@RCGirl7 жыл бұрын
yeah you can buy a new ESC instead, but this is a cheaper alternative/option. You can also use a BEC to run devices at different voltages without having to be tied to what your ESC puts out, or run more devices.

gotcha thank you

It’s a relay. Relays purpose is to receive and input for example you turn on your headlights the headlight switch cannot handle the load so you basically charge a small coil from the input of the switch and in turn will illuminate your headlights. THE RELAY HANDLES HIGHER LOADS!!! In the rc world it prevents BROWN OUTS when you steer and the motors cogs or does not operate. Is super popular in the crawling/scaling, and comping world. Great question.
