I love your reviews, Guy. Always honest and unbiased. Me personally, I went with the outcast recently. For me it was about cost. The Maxx is awesome. But the outcast is nearly $100 cheaper. I’ve owned almost exclusively traxxas since I really got into the hobby way back in 1998 when I bought the traxxas nitro sport. And once I’m keen on trusting something, it’s hard to convince my OCD brain otherwise. But lately I’ve gotten bitten by the RC bug again and have been buying the electric cars. I started with the XRT and the slash BL 2s. Both pretty pricey, but I’ve always stuck with traxxas. Then a funny thing happened. Watching literally hundreds of reviews on here from guys like you, I started becoming more open to looking hard at the other RC manufacturers. And one I landed on was Arrma. I now not only have the XRT and Slash BL 2s, but I also added the Arrma Gorgon, Granite 3s 4x4, and outcast 4s V2, and I couldn’t be happier with all 3 of them. My wallet hates me the past few months 🤣🤣 But when the RC bug bites you, it REALLY sinks it’s teeth in! 😂 Trust me I’m not by any means a traxxas hater. I still have a basement full of their old school nitro vehicles. But lately Arrma prices are so much lower than traxxas comparables, and are just as durable if not more, that I find myself for the first time in my life, ignoring the traxxas aisle when I go to my LHS. Perfect example is this new Rustler Ultimate 4x4 traxxas released. It’s a 3s vehicle retailing for $529!! I bought BOTH the Arrma granite 3s AND the Gorgon and combined it was only $498! So I got a 3s vehicle comparable to the new rustler ultimate, plus a cool 2wd retro looking and feeling monster truck, and still had an extra $30 in my pocket. And, the outcast which is a 4s vehicle, was only $469, that’s $60 cheaper! I still love traxxas, but their high prices are squeezing me away from their products. Just my opinions. I loved this video and love both the outcast and the Maxx. But as someone who’s always paying attention to cost and value, I’m riding the Arrma bus a lot more recently 😂 Great video man.

@@OGRCFanatic I already have thoughts but that's only because I'm from that automotive world. Point blank If you do not buy the highest priced item ultimate Platinum has every bell and whistle once you start to upgrade because you bought the base model you will be screwed for money in the end no matter what point blank and at that point in time it may be even worse because a majority of the parts will also need to be replaced that are near those items that you're upgrading. This is the automotive industry and the hobby is designed right alongside it. They have done years of research watching other companies and they pay people to figure out what is the best way to pull that money out of your wallet and not necessarily in the fairest of ways either. But like I've always said it's the people that do the buying It's the people that are addicted or feel they need to have something or want. but to some extent if you want that additional fun that you see with your own eyes and ears and sometimes smell you're going to have to pay for it either way.

How often do these oils need to be changed? for my first rc I want the arrma just because it’s more appealing to me but I hope I’m not making the wrong choice cuz either way I’d probably get it and enjoy the learning curve to it.
@pewterngold Жыл бұрын
This comment makes ZERO sense. You can change diff oils and other components to suit your driving style and preferences with either brand. Sounds like you’re just trying to convince yourself over a recent Arma purchase. Arma diffs typically need to be tuned and shimmed out of the box which is why Arma includes diff shims in the box. It’s a well known fact in the RC community that Arma diffs are not the best. But hey…..you re-convinced and identified yourself as “more advanced” so you probably already know this 🙄
@joshuaclark3414 Жыл бұрын
For most people who buy either of these RCs they will work fine out of the box. I wouldn’t say either is easier or harder to maintain but I also wouldn’t say someone would need to justify their purchase of the Arrmas. If anything traxxas buyers would be the ones trying to convince themselves they made the right purchase seeing as how the Maxx is sooo overpriced just like everything else traxxas puts out. I’ve never had a traxxas make it home in working order. Mine broke every single outing. Very frustrating. Arrmas have their issues (as does any RTR) but I very rarely break something on them. I do normal maintenance and they just run man. I don’t have to worry about something breaking 15 minutes into a session after maybe a 5 ft jump

I've recently become an arrma fan, after nearly 20 years in the hobby. I've bought 3 arrmas in the last year, as well as a maxx v2. In all honesty, there is better value with arrma, but the maxx (and xmaxx) are different than any other RCs that I've driven. They are well-engineered and run smooth and quiet. The maxx and xmaxx bash very well and can truly take a beating. I love the chassis design and clipless bodies. The arrma trucks are very durable as well. You really can't go wrong with either. If it is outcast vs maxx v2, they are nearly equal, prices considered. If money is no object, slight preference for maxx v2. The traxxas maxx is probably the most durable rc you can buy. It needs the $100 upgraded driveshafts if you plan on bashing hard or running 6s, which I do. The traxxas metal cvds are VERY beefy and worth the $100. If I had to buy another stunt truck, I'd go for an arrma notorious 6s. Arrma has a $70 manufacturer coupon on the big rock (just bought 1 yesterday for only $270) and the notorious until Oct 2nd.
