I had the savage flux xl for awhile, i got it brand new,brought it home and unboxed it. I went over it and made sure everything was tight,changed diff and shock fluid and threw in a better servo. I got ahold of a buddy and we drove about an hour away to go have an epic bash day. I threw the batteries in it and ripped it through the parking lot,took it to the end and on the way back took it off through the grass. I hit a bump and the truck did a cart wheel, the ring gear exploded. Within 5 minutes my new expensive toy was a paper weight. I got a new gear and made sure it was perfectly shimmed, took it out in the front yard, i hopped it off the curb down into the road and immediately blew the gear again,i was livid. I found a HD gear on eBay for 70 bucks, i put that in and the truck lasted half a pack until i blew out the front end by using the brakes. I couldn’t find another HD gear so i just sold the truck as is taking a pretty big loss. I know your pain for sure. Now i own an xmaxx and i love it,i got it used for 450,i put 250 into it rebuilding/upgrading it and i haven’t broken anything in about 6 packs.

The loose screws could contribute if it was loose enough for the ring gear to wobble. Heavier tires definitely stress diffs. That said, Exocaged trashed a ring gear from a cleanly landed jump, so maybe they’re a bit weak.

I like your idea of juicing up the diff and pinion! I tested using shock oil on my 6s hobbywing speed 4wd slash. So I haven't watched the video yet but I'm going to tell you my experience with the red cat machete 6S. So I bought a red cat machete 6S like 10 days ago I didn't have the batteries for it until like 4 days later so I didn't start driving it until 6 days ago I've only driven it about six times and I went to the local high school this weekend cuz nobody was there and there's a couple of good places to jump it off of and a big open parking lot and as you know it's a fast big car so I want a big wide open space to play with it anyway the point is is that I noticed that my steering wasn't working very well I thought maybe you had something to do with the adjustments and the dual rate and all that but I quickly realized that it really wasn't working at all so after taking it apart I figured out that the servo saver had stripped out on the inside that the servo slides into the the servo gear had stripped that part out on the inside and I had to order a new one because it was over the weekend and I didn't want to wait for the warranty department to come back in Monday and then fire off emails back and forth and figure out whether they were going to cover it or not so I went ahead and ordered one and then I shot him email they did get back to me Monday and immediately shipped me out of new one so now I have two coming which I think is probably a good idea just in case considering that after 6 or 7 times of driving it it's already gone bad. I'm honestly not sure what caused that and I've even got a set of monster ass tires on it now with better grip but yeah I think that you were probably right in far enough an email and asking them to replace the differential because I don't think the gear should have stripped out either I'm going to watch the rest of the video but off the basic premise I've seen so far yeah I don't think it was on you

Ima wait to see what you do before buying this. Are there heavy-duty gear options like with the Xmaxx, and will you swap out those wheels and test stock wheels with new stock gears/diffs? Time will tell lol.

Both trucks are VERY good. XMAXX has been around since 2015 this Redcat BLOWS IT AWAY on handling. Both trucks struggle with gears and these specific Prolines MX43's and that's my point. My hope is QUALITY GEARS will be produced. 👍💯

@NPCRC5 ай бұрын
@@rcguygarage Have you spoke with them about it? I did and at the time, they were suggesting that it was not a repeat issue and wanted to question what oils were being put in the center. We had tried 20mil and went down to 1 million after the first diff issue. Happened again and now have 500K in it, but too thin for the power of the Castle motor, even stock, imo. Even if redcat realizes an issue, they will need time to correct it. The Vitivon gears seem like the better choice, atm, cause they are ready NOW and beefier then the stock, which should solve the problem before Redcat can even get something else out. You gotta do you though. I was just checking in on others that were having "repeat" diff issues to see if they were actual repeat issues like we saw!
