My favourite gold field, tanji. Its thick srcub and full of leaches but so beautiful and always water around. Another great podcast Andrew cheers mate.

We thought Tanjil Bren one of the nicest tiny villages we'd ever seen, had no idea of a history of gold. Tanjil River was roaring thirty metres down a ravine from the road, too dangerous to fish, but could imagine the trout, so tried the Tarago, but were caught up agog with the gang-gangs, cinnamon bells flowers, and finding lyrebird feathers, as we were a kid a defense for possession of the feathers... I strongly remember the heavy gravels, we wished we brought our pans with the rods, in a steep criss-crossing ravine section of the river, before a flat ahead of the, as I remember it, inaccessible reservoir. The family were in a Tarago, ha ha. Thanks, hope to catch up soon. G.

I regularly prospect the Tanjil fields for gold and relics and would recommend carrying a hand mirror to periodically check for leaches on your face. On two occasions recently I’ve caught the buggers in the act of entering my mouth 😱
