Maidened mine today on grass, mid rates (75%) on elevator, low rates (50%) on aileron, CG set to 120mm, HRB 5000 6S 50C pack. No mods whatsoever. Flew fantastic, no problems rotating at all, the most fun I've had with an EDF on maiden ever. Removed the Reflex V2 unit, don't believe in gyros. Superb flyer, super maneuverable.

@@iansrc4152 Amazon used to carry those. Im using oynx 5000/6s/30c & they are great! 5+ minutes flight times in everything big i have, EXCEPT for this 1🤪! 3:30 on the Rafale 🤷🤦‍♂️😜

Maidened mine yesterday. Smart 6s/4000 as far forward as possible for nose weight. I made several important discoveries yesterday. 1st is my oynx 5000's GOTTA be moved BACK! Ill try again!

Excellent vid Rich ! Can't wait to get mine up in the air. Working on some ideas for a dual AB. There's only 28mm from the back of the motor to the center vane. Perfect for a 3d printed dual arm mount. I also see a possible mod for thrust tubes to optimize FSA. This can wait.

I think it probably needs a perimeter style burner as opposed to a center burner so the bifurcation does not need to be cut into. The dual burner may really block to much air.

Nice one Rich, she has a nice howl hasn't she 😉 I have a flightvid of mine posted some days ago, also on grass. For the front gear I just used some bigger wheels, it gives the same effect as your mod and no change to the supporting rod needed + bigger wheels are always a good idea on thick & soggy grass. You have rather smooth and dry grass, it's a but different overhere in Europe. Greetings from Belgium!

It works well! you can switch it ON & OFF in flight if you have a spare channel.

I don't think changing the Elevon control horn positions would be a good idea if one is using Reflex V2 in it, since that gyro uses preset settings made for the Rafale in stock form. Basically translates to reduced gyro gains.

That’s a good point and it’s also one that has two sides to it-FMS were very Conservative with the gains they preset because of the significant differences between different pilots and their personal perceptions of “ how it should fly”. Personally I haven’t really noticed any significant difference however a number might say the opposite because as you know we all have preferred sensitivity settings- thanks for the comment and your support:)

It's a different plane. However, I moved all 4 of my wing servo "Z" bends IN in 1 hole & I fly ailerons & elevator at 70% for high speed flying. Ailerons & Elevator at 70% travel with 10% expo. I use elevator travel of 100% & 20% expo for takeoff, landing & high alpha flight. I hope that helps:)
