Tamiya Egress 2013 body painting. Part 1

Finally getting around to painting the body of my Tamiya 2013 Egress eBay unfinished project purchase. In this video, I cut the body out, paint it and add the Egress stickers.

I like this channel a little more everyday! Nice to see someone still enjoying building a kit. I'm working on the Tamiya GT-4 Mustang now. I highly recommend the kit mostly for the body. Otherwise it's just your standard tt-02... still quite a fun car none the less.

Hey Gavin Do you heat your paint cans first before spraying. It’s something that I’ve only recently started doing. I put the can in the sink with hot water. First thing I noticed was the pressure seemed to increase, and sprayed better, the spray pattern was increased and it seemed to use less paint but covered better. I’m not a fan of scuffing, especially for metallic, as any deeper scratches the metallic will lay different and show up. Straight colour shouldn’t be a problem, but metallic needs to be uniform! That’s a lesson from my automotive spray painting days and the theory should apply to lexan. It’s just inside out. 👍🤓🇦🇺

Hi Gavin question how do you make the egress shocks rebound back mine keep sticking

Adjust the shock collars by moving them down. This will up the spring tension and the rebound rate. If the shocks are sticking regardless, it sounds like you need to rebuild them and check each part is fitted correctly.

My absolute fav Tamiya model I like to paint the undertray in the same colour as the body :) PS-12 was used on the original Egress. It's not that much different from PS-41

90% of Tamiya decals are not pre-cut.
