That’s going to be a better driver Gavin. If you want to drive it through water, then go for it, you got it for that purpose obviously. Mud, dust, small climbs, long walks etc. go for it. We research, buy, build, make mistakes, drive, make mistakes, repair, hop up, make mistakes, adjust and repeat until we develop our kit to how we like it. It’s an individual taste and preferences based process. That’s what the hobby is all about. I learnt heaps through your journey and applied my knowledge (limited) about crawlers to what I would do if I had the same kit. Me personally I would go a TRX4 (sorry blasphemy) because of the 2 speed gears, water proof gear, and the existing metal work in the kit. But I have a TRX4, that’s why I have an opinion/comparison. Keep up the good work Gav, loving being in touch with the Tamiya side of the RC world. I’m buying kits that I would not have considered before subscribing.👍🤓🇦🇺

I just finished mine. It's a good looking chassis but not 100% impressed. There is slop in the links, and alot of bump steer. Mine is stock for now and will be fine for me. It's basically just a show piece and ar un and there in the basement for me. The body will be done in pearl white. I used a Traxxas 2070 servo in mine and works great. Mine won't see water.

You got lucky on that car there's a lot of upgrades you can do to it I like your brass hubs pretty cool on there I would put a some aluminum ones on the back she looks all right I would just make it go a little bit faster I may be a sway bar so you don't flip over as much if you can run a sway bar on it Old MacDonald guided gotta have the rear steer

I've never owned a crawler cause I'm addicted to speed and wheel spin lol...but that chassis does look cool

Nice. Soldering for me is a bit like Lexan bodies. Practice on something first, don't let the first time you try be on the actual work! High end ESCs all need it so it's a handy thing to learn.

I’m not sure If the torque tuned motor is suitable, I used this motor for my sons Kyosho Dirt hog. Any running on grass even with a smaller pinion gear than stock, it will overheat.

mybe in the future you could use heat transfer paste between the heat sync and motor . love all the rc on back wall just built my first this week and its fun 2nd on its way.

Wish the body would fit the CC-01 Chassis. The CC-02 is too mainstream for me. I prefer its unique appearance.

I locked the front diff but left the rear diff alone. I am not sure if this is a good idea. This truck is not a true rock crawler. It is just a basic good looking trail rig. If you want a true rock crawler maybe you should buy something else. However, if you want a very good looking easy to build trail truck, this might be a good choice. Also replacement parts are easy to get. I like it, but you need to understand what this truck is meant to do.

I could be all washed up but that pinion spur mesh sounds worse than just adjustment, it sounds like you are using a standard 48 pitch pinion when tamiya uses 48 pitch metric gears. but I'm just guessing from the clicking sound.

It’s the 16T kit pinion from Tamiya. Nice and smooth now. Just needed adjusting.
